Jarrett Allen will be in this weekend. Would be good to seal him up and then make the final hard run at Monk. (Assuming Fox is in the bag, and I don't think there's much doubt at this point.)

Harry Giles has partially torn his ACL.

Not sure what effect that will have if any on his decision date, but you'd have to think it would bump it back.

Apparently this will be his second knee surgery.

Brutal....sucks for him. I am sure this has to postpone his announcement.

Matt Jones just said Giles' surgery is taking place at Duke hospital.

I assume he is heading home for surgery, still no good that it is at Duke

You wonder if the big boys will back off him now? I read this is his 2nd ACL surgery. He would be a risk. If you take him he may not be a one and done now. You may have a solid if not spectacular player for more than one year.

No way. Way (way) too much upside. These ACL surgeries are much different than they used to be, and by all accounts this is a pretty minor as far as knee injuries go.

Yep, announcing tomorrow. It will be Duke

@GoodmanESPN: Harry Giles, the No. 1 player in the country, is expected to announce his college decision tomorrow at 12 p.m. on @SportsCenter.

Another forum poster mentioned this - Duke in 2016/2017 will be insane.

Ingram may be the only player they lose from a top 5 team and they are getting he two best players in 2016 in Giles and Tatum. Plus a stud PG in Frank Jackson. Wow

Since he's having his surgery at Duke it might be in his best interest to announce he is going there. if not there may just be some surgical mistake that would result in an amputated leg.

Is this the same knee he hurt before? If it is, I still think he is very much a risk. But one worth taking.

                        Different knee I believe.

That seems to happen a lot. Hurt one knee and then a couple years down the road the other goes out. Derick Anderson is one, among countless others, in which that happened.

We could potentially be just as insane. We might have Ulis back with Matthews, Humphries, Wynard, and depending on how the year goes Lee. That core with most likely 4 guys in the top 25 will be right there. That could all change if Ulis and Matthews leave after this year, but Duke might have a few unexpected departures as well.

Saw that Giles will miss entire season because of injury. Hate it for the young man.

Is it time yet for rumors? Oh well, here we go. My son, who's connected with AAU basketball in North & South Carolina, reports that a friend of a friend of his in NC circles says that word is leaking out that Giles will be declaring for UK, not Duke. Reportedly, Giles is/has not "connected" with the Duke players and recruits. Has anyone else picked up similar info?
