Bam Adebayo was in Lexington for an official this past weekend. According to his Twitter he had a great time, but it looks like it's going to be very tough to get him out of North Carolina.

Xavier Henry was about the wildest thing I ever followed over about a 2 day span. Of course Terrance Jones's webcast non-committal was kinda fun too.

Do we need three PFs?

I think Cal is expecting Lee, Skal, and Poythress to enter the draft after this season, that would only leave us with Humphries who is really more of a Center if you ask me. So yes, we could use three PF's, along with Humphries.

I think they feel like Gabriel will play on a wing, so he's only a "power forward" in name.

And if they can get Adebayo or (especially) Giles, you have to take them no matter if there's a logjam. Guys like that are why Cal has been on this "positionless player" thing for so long. Kind of like what Alabama and Ohio State and all these schools do in football: you just get the talent and then find out where it can fit down the road.

Last year Kentucky completely struck out with its Madness visitors. It was a weird class, but the hype of last year's team may've been a little disconcerting. Cal very badly needs two of these three guys. Three of the three would put this class into the discussion as one of the all-time best, but Giles at this point is still an extreme longshot.

I don't have the actual quote from Evan Daniels but a few weeks back he did say that if any team has a chance to pull Giles away from Duke it would be Cal and UK. I know i'm just hanging on hope by a thread.

Has Cal thrown in the towel on Alkins? Seems a little weird that UK is taking their time not giving this kid the green light to come for an official visit this weekend. I would think even if Cal didn't think he had a shot at him he still wouldn't mind spending the money for him to come to BBM and maybe change his mind.

Hopefully the Alkins news is a good sign with Monk. I've said this, but I think the staff covets him more than anyone, even Fox and Giles.

The few things I read it was sounding real good with him. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he committed this weekend.
