Those are just single players. This class when looked at on the individual level stacks up. Cal's never had a #1 guy like Skal.

But if you look at the entirety of classes, Cal's only recruiting issues came after big seasons when a lot of guys went pro.

After Wall and Cousins we needed Terrence Jones to flip to avert disaster. After Davis and MKG we needed Nerlens Noel at the last second. This summer we obviously haven't gotten that late player like a Noel.

Part of it is need. This class would be fine if just three or four of last year's team went to the NBA.

But I think more of it is that something is happening during those epic seasons to get in the way of Cal bringing in the kinds of killer classes we saw with the Wall class, the Davis class, and the twins/Randle class.

People swore the NIT year would hurt in recruiting, but numbers-wise that was Cal's best class. I just think it's much easier to recruit when you're trying to come back form a "down" year than it is when you're trying to restock the cupboard after a historic run.

Not a fan of the one and done and get a little salty every year we lose our players but at the same time, it is what it is. I don't know of any other coach that can say "look what I have done" over the past 5 years putting players in the NBA.

I don't always agree with the stall offense but pound for pound, Cal is head and shoulders above the rest of the field when it comes to getting NBA potential recruits on a fast track plan to play at the next level........

I just noticed that Wed, the 20th, is the last day to sign a LOI. So, we may know something in a couple of days. Unless Swanigan decides to not sign a LOI.

I read earlier today that they doubt he signs a LOI. No reason to, dumb for any recruit to sign one.

Bummer, but glad it wasn't Cal.

                    Murray becomes imperative now.

I am beyond baffled as to why why Cal and Purdue are getting top recruits

I understand this one as Swanigan has all kinds of ties to Purdue. Was surprised he didnt commit there the first time around.
