UK is a legitimate contender according to the link I've provided below.

It's weird that Kentucky really wasn't a player at all the first time around but may be now. Swanigan may've worked under the assumption that Kentucky was going to get a couple of big men and then when everything fell through he saw UK in a totally different light.Comment

I think Swanigan is one of those players that wanted to go somewhere where he knew he was going to play a lot. So at first, that probably threw UK off the map because he just figured Cal was gonna load up with a bunch of All Americans again and PT would be sparse. That's definitely not the case now, and I really want this kid because a lot of people feel he is at least a two year player, possibly three. But we have all heard that before!Comment

I actually don't think it's "media trolling" at all. That's not Rothstein's style. Goodman's yes, but not Rothstein.
But he might be running with info given to him by the player's camp that's designed to pull UK in to a battle that they're inevitably going to lose.Comment

Still think he ends up at Cal. How Martin will land 3 top 10 guys is beyond me....NCAA should (but won't) look into it.

Per multiple sources: Caleb Swanigan in consistent contact w Rabb, and Brown-- disc. Cal's chances as national contender w the 3 together.👍 1Comment

Not this class but generally it helps.
The classes that follow great seasons with NBA exoduses seem to hurt. As others have said Cal does a much better job during his "okay" years even though he has guys stay.
I still think the pressure thing that Stephen Zimmerman's mother brought up is right and the main root of this. I just don't think these players want to follow a team that went 38-1 and lost all its main parts to the NBA. It's just like following John Wall and Anthony Davis: that's a huge amount of pressure.Comment

Yet, Knight and Noel did it and did it well. Some would say Knight had an even better year and Noel was starting to become the stuff of legend before his season was tragically cut short.
I just don't buy the pressure thing, I just think the staff did a bad job recruiting and projecting what these 7 guys would end up doing. Losing Slice and Antigua in back to back off-seasons set our recruiting back some. I wouldn't be surprised if a hot shot recruiter was soon hired. Barbee, as of yet, has not been announced as Slice's replacement....Comment
