Kind of a salty article. I'd talk smack or something--Look at the Oregon writer thinking his team is going to land this guy, lol--but with the way recruiting has gone recently he's probably right.

If you look at the pros(pun intended) and cons of UK vs other colleges, the choice would seem obvious. However this recruiting class had defied the accepted conventional rationale.

They have kept us guessing that's for sure. And we still are.

I've reached the point where I don't much care what Murray, Maker or any of the rest do. I'm pretty fed up with are they going to re-classify? Are they going to choose us? When are they going to announce?

There hasn't been much talk about it on here, but our New Zealand recruit is really impressing people. He has dropped some weight and has been playing very well, and there is a chance he may be joining the team halfway through the season. I would be happy if that happens, another big body would be nice.

Well, goody. We will now have one halfs and done instead of one and dones. I guess will now have a entire new era. But winning doesn't matter. Its all about the NBA.

That's actually a really good sign if Wynyard sticks to it. Not for next year necessarily but for 2016-'17. That will give him a half-season to get ready for the following year, and that could be invaluable for the kind of player he is.

He's only 17. Won't turn 18 until next February. So he isn't going to be ready for the NBA after a half of a college season. Best-case scenario is that he'll come in in December, play a few minutes a game, and then be ready to play a bigger role a few months later.

After canceling his visit to Oregon last week, Murray is on campus at Oregon currently

Oregon people (including their writers) are becoming very confident in landing Murray bye is there now, his 2nd visit, and brought his whole family.

UK was at 74% in the Crystal Ball this morning. That has now dropped to 63% with Oregon picking up multiple picks. Not sure why a guy who wants to be a NBA draft pick would go to Oregon but that's the way recruiting has gone this spring.

FWIW, a guy told me that after he left his visit to UK, Cal and team were very confident in landing him. He said the longer this goes the less chance he ends up at UK (based on what he has been told).

Cal sums up here about what he thinks took place during the recruiting process.

On whether platooning led to negative recruiting from other schools: “I don’t know if it was that, but there were a lot of things that were thrown, and look, here’s — again, I put this out because I had heard LeBron had said it: Where his game changed when instead of worrying about being great, he was worried about the process to be great. It changed him. That’s what happens here. If you’re into ‘I just want to show you what I can do,’ it’s hard. You’re going to be here with six, seven other guys that can all play. If you want to be the only guy that can score. Some people think, ‘Well, my best chance of getting where I want to go is being the main guy and taking all the shots and playing all the minutes.’ Really? Ask Devin Booker. Really?

“But if you really believe that, and I’m not going to convince you of anything different, you won’t come here. So I don’t think it was just that, but it’s hard for me when 26 (could be drafted) in six years, when they’ve had the academic success they’ve had, when they’ve had 14 players have graduated, three in three years. Where it’s more of a college experience for these kids. Where they have a lifetime education, so when they come back they can get their degree and where you come in here and perform and prepare yourself to go forward. You have to admit that our guys in the league have had great success. They’re not flaming out. They’re not all max contracts, but more than anybody else I’d say.”

I guess no news is good news at this point. Or is it? I wish we could hear something about somebody.

Only news on Murray is a tweet he sent out last night saying his official at Oregon is over and it went great, more to come.

So yea, that is far from earth shattering news.

Sasha Killeya-Jones is going to visit Kentucky. A 4 Star PF who dropped out of his commitment to VA. Someone within the coaching staff has a connection to him
