Jaylen Brown -- Didn't Pick Kentucky

An in depth article in this morning's Detroit Free speculates that Brown will ultimately decide between U of M and UK. I'm STOKED!!!!

Unfortunately his family's comments about Michigan and his own comments about playing for an adidas school make this one look pretty obvious.

The fact that Cal is now in on Shaun Kirk, a player who's very similar to Brown, also isn't a good sign. At all.

Yeah, he is headed to Michigan. Somewhat surprising as I thought when Chris LeVert returned maybe he would head elsewhere. But, it is becoming more and more clear that UM seems to be his landing spot.

Hate to hear that. (Though I'm not throwing in the towel yet!)

When I read the thread title, I got excited. I thought Brown had finally made a decision.

Here's another story about Brown, this one dated today.

Brown's God-given talent alone would be enough to make him highly coveted, but his drive to be the best is a trait that has truly set him apart.

Interesting info in there about why he's been so silent during his recruitment and the odd circumstances of how Michigan even entered the sweepstakes in the first place. Some pro Kentucky stuff as well.

If you're looking for a glimmer of hope it's about as good as you're going to do.

Yeah, that sure looks all Michigan to me. He has to still be undecided up to this point on some level though otherwise he would of decided already you would think. The more video I watched on Kirk, the more he grew on me. I wouldn't mind him at all

Not necessarily. These guys hold on their decisions a lot of times for various reasons. We know this because of the interviews they give after they commit.

Makes some business sense to play the game. The longer you hold out the more opinions of your game elevate.

Brown is a Beast...... and I don't think we have a chance, but its good PR to keep Kentucky involved due to the media that comes along with it. If anything, these writers get a lot more hits when Kentucky is still included. Too many ties to Michigan and Adidas to pull him away from there. I'm really surprised we even made that last cut.

This was exactly my thought. Why not keep UK in the mix and wait until every other top recruit has announced?

Could be because--and I know this is going to sound crazy--he wanted to come to UK at one point or another.

That article pretty clearly states that Michigan got into the race in a pretty arbitrary way. May mean nothing, but I've always thought that his family connection was solid. Turns out that he wasn't even considered him until his coach suggested he take a visit.

Although I've seen some say they believe he'll have the same kind of impact at the college level that Stanley Johnson did, which wasn't all that. Not that I wouldn't want a player like him on our team mind you, but you just never know if what we see on the youtube videos is going to translate into what we'll see when they play in college. ( See the Harrison twins).
