For the next kid that is born and raised in Kentucky and gets recruited by the University of Kentucky, the COACH should be fired!!!!!!!!! I don't care if the next Jordan or Lebron James is born and raised in our own back yard...........

I guess it's safe to say that kids like Hawkins and Willis who grow up in Kentucky around basketball people 24/7 365 a year are just dumb and don't have a clue about the game of basketball itself. I hear in Chicago, New York, L.A., Atlanta, and every other major city in the United States that they teach the IQ of a basketball player a helluva lot better than they do here in the state of Kentucky

If you watch Avery Bradley of the Celtics and D. Hawkins play defense, you see a lot of similarities in size and quickness on the defensive side of the ball. Still, if your not a McDonald's All American, your not good enough to play at Kentucky.Comment

Who would have ever thought that kid out of Kentucky by the name of Derek Willis was actually a lot more athletic (that is a understatement) than a guy from Gonzaga who lit the college game up offensively this year and couldn't play a lick of defense????????????????????????

Derek Willis is too skinny and scrawny to play college basketball. That's what they said about Prince and somehow someway he has managed to play not only college basketball, but 13 years in the NBA...

If you can make it through Louisville with all the construction going on, may as well re route to the Sherman Minton bridge. First jump into the river starts at 5 pm this afternoon. Crazzed is the guy at the bar saying that every damn woman in this city is butt ugly and he wishes he had never seen any of them and this is the worst evening ever and his beer is flat and the tp in the rest room could run out tonight FIX IT NOW and he wishes he had just stayed at home so he could have avoided all of this horrible conversation. But a friend who works at a bar in another town has provided a tip indicating that there might be some hot women showing up at a certain time....but half of the time they never do.

I am actually the guy that tried to play the percentages at the bar and out of attractive women, I chose the one in between because I thought it was the sure shot. What I didn't know is that by the end of the night the perfect 15 walked up to me out of the blue and told me I chose the wrong one. TShe then went on to say let's end this, set me up with 5 shots, took a selfie of me and her, then was gone with the wind and out the door.. ####truestory

OK, I haven't lived in Kentucky for 25 years. So I don't the high school basketball players well at all anymore. If UK offered and signed the top five senior players this year would UK make the NCAA's next season? NIT? Maybe a .500 team or worse. My guess would be door number three. Willis and Hawkins sort of prove that there are not many high level D-1 players in Kentucky and haven't been for about 20 years. My guess is that if UK only went after local yocals like someone in this thread is strongly suggesting then the baskteball program would bottom out in a years time.Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment

Regarding McDonald's All-Americans: I think Cal is doing it the same way Coach K is and Self is and Roy Williams usually is. He's trying to stack as much talent as he possibly can.
Not that complex of a thing. Duke just won a title and everybody they played was a McDonald's All-American. It really isn't rocket science. You get those players and you give yourself a much better chance of winning basketball games.Comment
