I can see MB III reclassying, he has nothing else to accomplish at the high school level.
I'll be surprised if BolBol comes to UK...
No worries, hopefully. I will take the Quickley/Zion combo along with Reddish and be extremely giddy.

I was reading a while back that Knox has Durant skills. I sure hope so but ain't holding my breath. I liked last month when Cal referred to Knox as a guard. Is reading the tea leaves the wrong thing to do here? Can you imagine if Cal platoons again and we see a backcourt of Hami and Knox? A lot of teams would kill for their FRONTCOURT to have that kind of wingspan. Regardless, I think we are gonna be really good defensively this year. Don't sleep on Quade either. I have read Tyler Ulis like vision but with a slightly better shot. Yep. I will take that.

Totally agree. I think Quade Green is being vastly overlooked and undervalued. There is a reason so many people want to play with him. And Cal knows point guards and he seems to love his game. Seems to be a lot of people concerned about Green for next year. I think if that is the worst problem this team has it will be very good.

^^Hey I like the sound of that. And I admit my tempered expectations for him are totally based on the comments of others who've watched him. Personally I've seen almost nothing of him. Still, I cannot expect him to be on the Wall/Fox level or Knight level or he'd be a little better known entity.

I've seen Green maybe four times and have been disappointed each time. I do know that he's said to be a fierce competitor, and that's a major part of the game at this level.

Other guys I saw in high school who didn't blow me away and/or were just meh when I saw them: Doron Lamb, Darius Miller, DeMarcus Cousins. Also saw Anthony Davis practice early in his freshman year and thought he might not be able to contribute at a high level. Looked disinterested and was routinely destroyed by Terrence Jones.

So you never know. Three or four games = tiny sample size.

We might hear about Bagley this week. Will be a crusher if he chooses Duke.

That's the only big concern I have with this team. Who is the leader? Green has the makings of it, but if he doesn't perform, he won't play enough. Some have said SGA may push him at point....we'll see. But, in games, I hope there isn't a struggle to run the team and for the team to be lead. I can see Knox, Diallo, and Green all wanting to lead and dominate the ball. This is Cal's biggest challenge IMO. The good thing is these guys seem to be pretty tight and good personalities. Green does seem to be the dominant leader at this point, but will that translate in games and in his play?

I again post this Green workout video....he clearly has great skill. We'll see how that translates into running the point at the highest level in college.

And I HIGHLY recommend watching all episodes of his Plan A Documentary....great stuff.

The academic issues are a real problem IMO. I'm not sure he gets cleared....But, of course, all will be approved and clear if he wants to go to Duke lol.....

I think UCLA is a very possible destination for him.

This article by Mike DeCourcy sums up the situation well....

"Bagley, a 6-10 power forward, is from the Phoenix area but played high school basketball last year at Sierra Canyon in Chatsworth, Calif. He played for three high school teams in four years. The second of those, Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, chose to change its academic affiliation during the 2015-16 season because the NCAA did not approve the curriculum offered by Starshine Academy. It is not clear how the work Bagley did there will be viewed by the NCAA or whether that would be an issue with him getting eligible for this academic year."

R.J. Barrett has reclassified into the 2018 class. Should be the #3-ranked player behind Bagley and Zion.

Huge. #2 in Scout, #3 in ESPN rankings....

Barrett, Zion, Quickley, King, Bol, Reddish, Shittu, Reid, Grimes..... all possibilities

I'd bet there's a high chance we get at least 4 of those guys.

Matt Jones predicts on his show UK will get Barrett, Zion, and Quickley, and add 1 or 2 more....

Adds that he feels Reddish could be the 4th but not going to officially predict that. Feels the 1st three are almost certain. TIFWIW

This is true. With the scandal at UNC, Duke may be the only school that can guarantee his eligibility will not be a problem. Could make his choice quite easy.

When he openly makes statements about recruits like this he is almost always correct, because he is always reflecting the direct feelings from people at UK.

So, therefore, I am not worried about losing Zion either at this point.
