That's the thing though. They draft on attributes. It's why Diallo, having never played a game, is seeing how he stacks up.

They would prefer not to have to do it this way, though. They want guys they can get a read on in terms of their competitive fire.

Yes, there were TONS of total busts back then--Kwame Brown for example. I think NBA teams grew very weary of drafting totally on potential and paying huge $ and quite often getting no return.

One year seems awful quick to us but it gives NBA scouts a heck of a lot more info than high school and AAU.

Bad for us. That suggests he's getting good feedback and doesn't want to risk spoiling that in the five-on-five.
