If this is true and this young lady was asked to leave her team, I don't like this at all.

First we demand a winning team. Then we celebrate a coach with great pedigree. Then we start reacting negatively when he makes moves to build a winner.
Is it intolerable to see how the sausage is made?

Selfishly I really hate to hear this, as lower Pike County and Shelby Valley HS isn't that far from me, and as a reminder the scholarship limit increases to 15 soon. I thing this decision is justifiable and also is in extremely poor taste.Comment

Makes a move to build a winner? What exactly was she doing that was causing the team to be a loser? They have 15 scholarships to use. Most coaches use an 8-9 person rotation. You're telling me that he's going to bring in a 14th or 15th player that's going to do more when it comes to "building a winner" than Cassidy? Is he pulling his daughter's scholarship as well? What did she do to help build a winner?Comment

I don't listen to KSR but saw her uncle was on yesterday and confirmed her scholarship was pulled. Not told she was being recruited over, not told she wouldn't play much and should consider transferring if she wanted an opportunity, pulled. Brooks looked her in the eye and said she couldn't be on the team next year.
For those acting like this isn't a big deal and is just business, can you please provide multiple examples of any coach in division 1 men's or women's basketball actually pulling the scholarship of someone who didn't break any rules or laws? I'm not talking about kids getting recruited over and transferring to play somewhere else. I'm not talking about kids getting recruited over and riding the bench. I'm asking for examples of a coach kicking a player off the team.
The justification? Supposedly if they don't use all 15 scholarships that money goes to the NIL fund, but have no idea if that's true or an internet rumor.Comment

You either want to win and trust your guy to get that done (because he cares more about winning than you) or you want a feel good product that functions on fan desires.Originally posted by John Stuart MillHe who knows only his own side of the case knows little of that... Correct. It also wouldn't have been as big of a deal if he did it before his first season. New coach, new system, looking for a fresh start, ok. But you'll never convince me he'll find a better option for the end of the bench.Comment

I'll still be a fan and will pull for them, but this has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.Philippians 4:11-4:13Comment
