No one's upset with Ulis. He earned and deserves everything he'll get. It's Cal who annoys me in this case.

We're not in the stands, in front of the TV or on this board to root for draft status. We're rooting for UK. Cal's incessant efforts to convince us that this is the sort of thing we should celebrate are tiring and irritating.
I will be the last guy you see here defending the OAD. I think it is ruining college basketball. At least Tyler was a 2 year kid and did some great things along the way. The best pure PG I ever saw play here. And that's saying a lot. He accomplished so much. It makes me happy he can achieve his goals and I will hold a place in my UK heart for him.

I am still waiting for the UK achievements from Skal and a couple of others in the past, but as we are reminded, it is not about us. It is about them. They did what they felt they had to do for themselves or family and we would do the same. But as a UK fan, I hold nothing for them since I hardly can recall what exactly they did int he 6 months here. Oh well.

I definitely do not cheer for draft night. I just accept it as the way it is and the way it's been and going to be here. UK is a bus stop to the NBA. Just hope we can grab #9 while I am still kicking.

These guys are changing their lives and the lives of their families. They contributed while they were here. They never embarrassed the university while they were here. Just look down the road.
I love Cal....no he isn't perfect as another poster mentioned but he has done nothing but brought this program up. He doesn't make the news for sex scandals he makes the news by donating and raising millions for charities. And changing players' lives. And he has won a few games for the program we love.
        Go Cats!

No surprise. Ulis is gone. He's hired an agent. 2017 will probably be a "what if" year. What if Ulis had come back would UK have won a championship then?

Do you already presume that we won't win it next year?

Not with what Duke's got coming back. Also its going take most of the season for Cal to break in a new point guard. Anything can happen once the tournament starts but looking at the odds I say not.

I remember UK in the BC era, (before Cal). We, the fan base, were always wondering and hoping that a top recruit would pick Kentucky to be the place to play their college ball. I believe that a segment of the fan base has forgotten how bad it was in the BC era, when the best players were few and far between on the Kentucky campus. Since the beginning of the Calipari era, I have not worried about recruiting. It does not bother me that there is a (gasp) down year once in awhile, mixed in with all the other years, when the Cats are one of the top contenders.

He won't have to break in a totally new on if Briscoe returns. Different kind of player than Ulis for sure but very capable of running the point for us. Of course, he will have to improve his shooting.

As for Duke....no doubt they are top dog next year, especially if they get Bolden(which is expected). I honestly like not being favored for once but I also think our team, while talented, is going to have tons of holes once again. (Shooting, post player). We'll be good along with MSU, Kansas, Zona and a few others but I suspect everyone will be shooting for Duke next season.

Yes because the team with the most talent....(or perceived to) ALWAYS wins the title....

Not going to say we win it all. But usually I go into a season (since Cal has been here) thinking we have a legit shot at the elite 8 if not the final 4. I thought 2 teams from day one would win it all. Last year and 2012.

I still like our chances just for the fact that we have Willis and Hawkins as SR's, possibly Lee a Senior, we have Matthews, Briscoe and Humphries. A solid core to go along with some great talent coming in. We might struggle some from 3, but we will not know until we get into the season. I think we have guys that can bang (missed that this year), guys that can slash (even better than this year) and guys that can shoot. We have rebounding, we have the studs to press (if we what to press), we have the bigs to play slow if needed.

I never go in negative. I get negative during a game when everything seems to go wrong. That is my problem. I am one of the types that pessimistic with live game action. Not sure why I get that way but I am trying to turn a leaf.

I say we have a great year / better than this year / with some really great wins. I say we have a legit shot (like Vegas thinks) of winning a title. I can't wait to see how Matthews / Humphries / Wynyard / Willis / Hawkins / Briscoe all develop again over the summer. I know i am forgetting some guys but I cannot wait to see the BOYS IN BLUE next fall (football and basketball).

                              Meant Bang not band.

I also said anything can happen in the tournament. Just look at 2011 and 2014. Maybe they catch lightening in a bottle again. It will be a fun year but I won't be expecting a national championship.
