An unexpected bonus is that Ulis actually got a chance to sit for awhile last night.

He played 30 minutes, the fewest he's played in two solid months, and even when he was in there he didn't push like he normally does.

May not mean anything as IU routed their opponent too, but anytime we can play a little without Ulis it's a plus.

Also: Briscoe is playing like an animal lately. Badly, badly need the effort he's been giving Saturday, particularly on the glass.

^ I noticed that looking at the boxscore. No one played over 30 minutes. By far the least Ulis and probably Murray has played this year in a game. It was good they matched their rout to Indiana's/ No one will have that advantage now.

Total animal. He rebounds like he's going to put someone on the floor if they get in his way.

The worst thing about the game isn't that it's IU/UK.

It's that both teams were underseeded. Kentucky's hovering around the top 5 now in the Pomeroy ratings. Indiana I think is just outside the top 10. Both teams have been as good as anybody in the last quarter of the season.

These two shouldn't be playing in the second round.

And it seems that everyone in the country feels the same way, too bad the committee didn't.

Exactly this should be a regional final. At the very least a regional semi. But don't let logic get in the way when TV wants something.

Someone posted on another board that we actually broke the block record of the 98 Cats. Is this correct?

                      Yes, I think so.

One thing about that game is that it was officiated very loosely. They let a lot of stuff go, and that obviously worked to our advantage.

Where Kentucky starts to rattle is when they're calling fouls every time somebody drives.

Yes I read that elsewhere. Never would have thought that team would have that record either. Although they did have more size than this one.

The Syracuse - Dayton game was practically identical to our game last night. By the 10:00 mark the combined score of both teams was 18 or 20 points.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

Rutgers just hired Stony Brook coach Steve Pikiell.

They really wanted Danny Hurley. Then Jay Williams of ESPN was rumored to be close to the job. Both turned it down.

Pikiell has a tough, tough road ahead of him. Probably the worst power conference job right now, though Boston College would have to be close.
