Matt Jones said today that he was told UK will not stop him from doing his dancing routine. However, he cannot slide down the railings any longer and (obviously) can not pick up any more children.

It's an outrage that in 21st century America a man can't pick up random little girls and dance down a flight of concrete stairs to Billy Idol.

UK had to do that to avoid any lawsuit that might come up.

What is the difference of jumping up and down and going crazy during a game? This was uncalled for. Ok, so he wouldn't pick up anyone again. No, UK had to go a tad further and join the hyper sensitive crowd. Guess what? I can hurt myself while cheering and acting a fool! It's a conspiracy and the Blue Hairs are in on it!

I believe I read that he always ends his dance by sliding down the rail. If so, he could injure himself. As Kevin prev. stated, it's more about UK attempting to avoid a lawsuit than anything else, in my opinion.

But if he doesn't pick up anyone else, if he gets injured who is he going to sue? Given that scenario, we are approaching frivolous lawsuit status. That incident would hold no water. I guess I can understand why they said it. So now that it's out there, he should be able to continue his routine. Nobody said a dang thing for years. Answer me this UK...Why don't you stop squeezing folks in the arena then? How many times have Rupp been overfilled? You can see where I am going with this.

I agree with you to a point. But, remember UK only leases Rupp, so the City of Lexington and UK could be held liable for anything that happens during a game. I remember the exhibition game with Transy ant the guy tripped and fell in the upper deck. He was paralyzed and Coach Cal went to see him in the hospital. I'm sure somebody connected with the arena at least payed his medical bills. I'm had no problem with this guy dancing, but I am surprised they let it happen.

I'm in complete agreement with Blue Heaven and Lighthouse. The thing about it is, based on what little I know about the law, if UK, the City Of Lexington or whomever is responsible doesn't take steps to protect themselves he could sue them.

I just think middle-aged men humping guard rails to terribly outdated Billy Idol songs is creepy and unnecessary.

Let's just put it this way: every time I'm watching a Kentucky home game in the presence of other people who aren't Kentucky fans (and, sometimes, those who are Kentucky fans), the Dancing Guy gets butchered. And it's embarrassing.

This brings back memories of the guy who used to dress up like a cowboy and dance at the Dallas Cowboys' games. Dancing Ray may have been his moniker, I'm not sure.
