WeWant9, thanks for posting that. Well early summer reports seem to be telling it like it is at this point. I figure it will take at least 1/2 of the summer for these guys to really click and learn how to play off each other. McBride needs to holster that pistol. You have many guys that can score. Spread the love. Do not need anyone taking 20 shots a game on this team, unless they are on a Monk or Meeks type of heater.

I generally don't respond to folks on here but your take is crap. The first Pope squad didn't " quit" on anything. They were decimated by injuries and played thief hearts out. Butler played an NCAA game in constant pain and could barely lift his arm. Robinson was out and Carr had back issues. I just love all these keyboard tough guys throwing shade at real athletes .👍 3Comment

From the article:
"Kentucky's current big-man situation with Moreno holding down the fort as the only true center...."
When I entered that into Google search, this is the response I got...which is much more accurate:
"Malachi Moreno anchors Kentucky’s frontcourt as the primary center, but he isn't holding down the fort completely alone. Head coach Mark Pope fortified the roster's big man depth by bringing in graduate transfer Franck Kepnang from Washington to share the heavy lifting. The center rotation offers a solid mix of size, rim protection, and veteran experience:
Malachi Moreno (Sophomore, 7'0", 245 lbs): Stepping into a massive role after initially testing the NBA Draft waters. Moreno is viewed as the team's premier rebounder and defensive anchor.
Franck Kepnang (Graduate, 7'0", 275 lbs): Brought in via the transfer portal to provide instant physicality, a bruising interior presence, and valuable experience off the bench."
Was it Pilgrim who thinks Moreno is "the only true center"??? If so, what does he think Kepnang is...a shooting guard? Or how about Reese Potter? I guess he's really a point guard.
Sometimes I wonder if these guys proofread what they've put down in writing.....Comment

Pilgrim reports don't usually do much for me.

Kepnang is being limited right now. I don’t think he is doing much in summer practice. I think that is what Pilgrim is talking about when he says that Moreno is the only true Center we have. He is talking about right now, with Kepnang sitting out.
With Kepnang’s history of injury, I would not be surprised if we see N’Diaye some at the 5 this season. He’s more of a 4 than a 5, obviously, but at 6’11 he might be able to give us some minutes at the 5, if Kepnang isn’t available. .Comment

I don't think that is likely imo. Don't see this kid being a banger down low.Kepnang is being limited right now. I don’t think he is doing much in summer practice. Agreed, he is not a banger.
But there are different ways to play the 5. He might be effective as a stretch 5. Pull the other team’s big away from the basket to give the guards more room. Use him in a PnR/PnP role. Defensively, we might have to use a zone or double team the post with him in there.
Potter is the other option backing up Moreno if Kepnang gets injured. I think N’Diaye would be the better play in that situation. Potter is not a banger either. Probably a little stronger, probably a better shooter, but not near as athletic.
And if our forwards all end up being good, Pope may need to find a way to generate minutes for these guys. Playing N’Diaye as a stretch 5 opens up more minutes for McBride and others at the 3 and 4 spots.Comment
