Agree with this as well. Before I retired, if someone was willing to pay me more, I gladly took it.

I only care, where professional sports are concerned, because the strikes and constant bickering between the owners and players over money was one of the reasons I quit watching pro sports. I care, on the collegiate level, because colleges and universities are supposed to be, first and foremost, places of furthering one's education. It's sort of off-putting to me that coaches and now players are making much more than the instructors.

I understand your frustration, but like it or not, that's how the business world operates. College athletics has become (and in many ways, always has been) a business. And like all business models, it all boils down to how much the paying customer is willing to pay. The paying customer doesn't pay to see "the instructor", they pay to see the actual product on the field of play. So the players and coaches are going to reap the benefits and rewards of performing the service of that for that which the paying customer wants to see.

Just pay the man and be done with it if that's what it takes, it's not like it's our money anyways and will not effect one thing in my life except for maybe my peace and happiness if Kentucky is winning ball games.

Just like the National debt, who gives a sh$$. If the United States ever falls it don't matter anyways, it all falls down. Before that ever happened we would do what we have always done, just go take what we want, just the way it is. I always ask myself, if we ever defaulted who is coming to collect? Is Russia or China going to show up and make me get out of my house and we all have to leave???? Maybe the Aliens?? Money is all man made monopoly bs anyways, it don't matter when they stick you in a box and it's a wrap, who cares? Nobody, it don't matter.

Back to basketball, we are in a world of Pay to Play Pay to win, you want results spend the money. No different than the Yankees for DECADES, the Dodgers, or any other team that spends to win...

Pay Momcilovic and go pay another kid who's committed to another school and offer more,, just get it done by any means...

You sound a lot like me. One of my college professors labeled me as a cynic.

Okay, now we have Moreno back, so now we need Momcilovic to finish the roster and make us a potential contender.

              Make it happen, Coach!

It aint my money. Not my problem worrying about things out of my control. And yes I am guilty of worrying about worldly things out of my control in the past...

Anyways, I apologize for snap and the rant lol lol lol. Truth is I been locked in a studio going on 5 months now along with running the full time business. I been locked in on my own island for a while now, haven't really paid that much attention to Kentucky basketball like i normally do.

If and I MEAN IF Pope can somehow land Momcilovic, wouldn't that be something ??? Just may have a decent chance at a pretty good team..

Kentucky as of now seems to be the favorite, we heard this before though.

Yep...with Rob Wright, with Donnie Freeman, with Sebastian Rancik....heck, even with Tyran Stokes for a hot minute.

No clue if MM will be a Cat. But if he isn't we are looking at another 1 and done in the tournament likely.
I woukd say Pope's job depends on MM signing
with MM should be able to make a deep run.

Disagree. One guy won't make that much difference. The roster is pretty good already.

One guy can make a WORLD of difference.

Take Larry Bird off of the Celtics, how many titles do you think they win?

Take Magic Johnson off of the Lakers, how many titles do you think they win?

Take Michael Jordan off of the Bulls, how many titles do you think they win?

Take Tim Duncan off of the Spurs, how many titles do you think they win?

I'll bring it a bit closer to home.

Take Anthony Davis off of the 2012 Kentucky Wildcats, and do you think they win the title that year?

I'm obviously making a point, because I wouldn't dare compare Milan Momcilovic to any of those players.... just pointing out that in the game of basketball, one player can make a WORLD of difference.

                            You beat me to it!
Basketball is unique in that one guy can literally put you on his back and take you to a title. Carmelo Anthony with Syracuse immediately comes to mind.

Pete and I will have to agree to disagree that this roster is already pretty good, as well. Don’t think they can compete with Florida, Tennessee, Duke, etc

And you and I agree on this. As the roster currently is constructed, I see a repeat of last year in terms of record, overall outcomes, etc. Add Momcilovic, and it's a lot closer to Pope's first year where there were some nice upsets, a higher ranked team, a team to be proud of, and a Sweet Sixteen type tournament run, etc

I do believe the backcourt should be pretty solid. But, like you, I don’t see a lot after that. Moreno will certainly be great to have back. Add Milan and I think you’re right. Sweet 16 is probably the ceiling.
