I went to a few Indiana Pacers games back in the 90s. They were pretty entertaining, but the game has changed a lot since then. I think much of the entertainment now is carried by the extraneous stuff that the arena does and not so much the basketball that's being played.

I am not an NBA guy. I live in Denver and can barely bring myself to care about the Nuggets. But I get that a college coach/program needs to be able to show that they can prepare guys for that next level.

You ever been? How do you know? I don't follow the NBA religiously but the games in person are really fun. To see that level of athleticism and talent is wild.

At one time I liked the NBA as much, if not more, than college basketball. I've been to some Pacers games in person in the early 90s and early 2000s...they were fun and a great live experience.. In the 80s and 90s the NBA was close to being my favorite sport....but between the time of "The Decision" (2010), and half a dozen years later when Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant both retired (2016), my interest REALLY dropped off. These days, I hardly keep up with it and barely watch.

One thing I do know, his offense isn't there yet but at some point he will be able to shoot the basketball pretty decent in my opinion, he doesn't have that funky big man form shooting the ball, that will serve him well next level.
Not sure what you're seeing, but he has far from textbook form on his shot. I didn't call it a jumper because his feet don't really leave the ground ...more like he rises up on his tippy toes. He shoots a "jumper" almost flat footed, like every player shoots a free throw. And his legs (at least one of them) is a little bowed in. It's awkward looking. So he has some work to do, in that regard.

We'll have to disagree there. Before Kemp got injured and was relegated to bench duty with his minutes severely reduced the last 4 or 5 years of his 14 year NBA career, he was a high teens scorer, even averaging 20 PPG over the course of a year or two. He retired averaging over 14 and a half PPG, and that was with the reduced role and playing time his last handful of years. I'm not seeing that type of offensive potential out of JQ....so we'll have to disagree on that one.

Kemp didn't come into the league shooting jump shots, took him a good while to develop that part of his game later on down the road in his career. After the cocaine stopped, he gained weight and started shooting jump shots..

Anyways, JQ has good form shooting with his hands shooting the ball, he's not a Oweh with some type of funny glitch to his shot or Amari Williams,. Even with his feet, he's not Kevin Duckworth either...

The one thing we never had the opportunity to see while at Kentucky is his ability to put the ball on the floor and drive, he's a pretty smooth operator handling the ball with his size. He may not the PG passing skills as Amari but JQ can handle the ball and drive at will, that will serve him well. In fact, Shawn Kemp was horrible early on handling the ball, he was rim runner lob threat and defensive player like JQ is.

It don't matter, still the few times we saw him he just reminded me of a young Kemp the way he was energized and moving around... He has a solid frame too, he changed his body big time since he was in high school, you boy bout half way swole...

I will watch some playoff games, but never watch regular season. I think part of it for me is I never had a team, so didn't gravitate to it.

I turned the game off last night. The Knicks erased a 22 point deficit with 8 minutes to go and won by 11 in overtime

I do not watch the worst basketball product in the world, NBA. You have to go back to the 80s and 90s to witness great basketball in the NBA.

Mock draft.. Moreno 36, JQ 20, Graves 22, Mocilovic 38, Bidunga 42, Chinyelu 48, Billy Richmond III 53, Onyenso.

Espn has JQ 14, Graves looks 1st round everywhere. I mention a few others non Uk related because it makes some of the teams we play weaker if those players go pro.

I don't have any ins or outs but I think it is borderline if Moreno comes back, in fact I think he may be gone. Yeah the money is more at Kentucky but when the NBA starts dangling that carrot in front of a 18/19 year old kid, it's all she wrote folks. Moreno's situation is not like OWEH'S at all, not even close. Still cant teach 7 foot..

Brings me to this point. I think we all acknowledge the days of old come to school develop stick around are long gone, it aint happening, nothing is to be taken for granted which means NOW MORE THAN EVER recruiting player portal talent is as important as ever, it's the new norm and you better get the best players year in year out if you really want to compete which means you HAVE TO LAND ELITE TALENT, PERIOD!!!

We hated the Calipari one and done but it's the same thing now, it's no different. The only difference is CAL focuses on young weaker skinny 18 year olds while unless of course it's truly a elite special player while most everyone else focuses on that upperclassman developed stronger portal talent.

We need recruits moving forward and can't be missing. It sucks missing out on the freshman coming in but I still put more value on the UPPER CLASSMAN TOP PORTAL PLAYERS, WE NEED TO FIX THAT...

Don’t you watch women’s college basketball? The worst basketball product in the world is the WNBA.

I have a soft spot for the Bird, Magic, and Jordan days. Those were my formative years. Yeah, the game has changed but you can’t deny the talent and crazy skills these guys have. Wemby is an absolute freak of nature. SGA, Brunson. These guys are incredible. To say the product is the worst in the world is ludicrous in my opinion. This is like somebody saying college basketball is a bad product compared to the days of Cotton Nash. You can appreciate all eras.
