Google has no idea how much more Duke is making from this versus the games being on more traditional channels.

My point is we'll see the deal is worth $X million dollars but we'll never see that compared to what they'd get if the game was on ESPN.

Perhaps, but I'd be willing to bet good money that it it's substantial. Otherwise, they wouldn't be doing it. As with everything, when it doubt..... follow the money trail.

The leadership at uk needs to look at how duke is running things and adjust. I can't stand duke but they do have some smart people leading that program.

Oh yeah, I'm all for it. The only difference is that you stated that ESPN and CBS would want to preserve the rights to the the marquee match-ups with a little bit of compromise. ESPN only has priority for UK's home games and games on the road against SEC schools. The big neutral site games (outside of the CBS classic) would be the ones moving to streaming. As part of the scheduling, UK would make sure to schedule 3 big OOC games at neutral sites.

But yes, anything to bring in more revenue is good in my book.

It's not just about the games being on Amazon though. It's the NIL agreement that Duke has with the second largest consumer giant in the world to pay their players to advertise. This is a huge get for Duke.

Duke made a great hire a few years ago when they hired Rachel Baker away from Nike. One of Scheyer's first moves was bringing her in shortly after he got the job. She is the GM, but doesn't have the traditional GM role that we think of as she's not involved with the roster and contracts. She involved with maximizing the money they can get through partnerships like this.

How many people already have Amazon prime video or know someone who does? I don't think it cuts out the "common fan" type of thing. Yeah, people will complain. My buddy complains about Pea**************** television NFL stuff. But we get Pea**************** with our Walmart plus or whatever it is. Streaming isn't a foreign or a new fangled concept these days. And UK fans are crazy enough to buy those services just to watch those 3 games. Unrelated, but you think Gonzaga will beat Duke by 35?

I don't mean to come off rude or whatever but can you not see that Duke is lightyears ahead of UK from a recruiting, marketing, and coaching standpoint? This is a huge deal for them. Meanwhile, we're whiffing on guys we're flying to war ravaged parts of the world to watch play.

I wasn't aware that WCN has the capability to do this.

Sure, maybe. I don't really know about marketing and whether they are better or not. They've been great at recruiting high school kids. I'm not sure that their coaching has been any good, though.

However, I'm saying that this Amazon thing sounds cooler than it probably is. And other than us possibly getting additional money out of it, our fans would HATE it. But yet, when Duke does it, it makes us look bad.
