This took so long because Pope did not want to take away anything from the baseball team. He and Nick get along great!

Agreed. IF they stay healthy—big IF—we should get a true look at how Pope wants to play. He has some talent at every position and solid depth.

So…IF they stay healthy and don’t gel into a good team, there can be no excuses. Should be a telling season.

Looking at the roster, I think four guys are locks to start:

G Diallo- top 30 in the portal, P5 starting experience, double digit scorer.
G Wilkins- top 50 in the portal, D1 starting experience, double digit scorer, high upside as a Sophomore.
F Momcilovic- top 5 in the portal, P5 starting experience, best shooter in the country, double digit scorer.
C Moreno- returning starter, P5 starting experience, potential lottery pick.

The fifth starter is the big question mark.

I really go back and forth between Kam Williams and McBride. I think one of those two will be the fifth starter. I like Kam because he has been in the system and played against SEC competition. But McBride is the better rebounder and that could be our Achilles’ Heel next season.

N’Diaye and Hawthorne could also be in the mix. Both have lots of upside.

Going to be interesting to see who emerges as the fifth starter.

Looks like the addition of Momcilovic is shooting UK up in preseason polls. A lot of them had UK unranked, but now UK is trending in the 15-20 range; which seems fair before the start of the season.

Looks like the addition of Momcilovic is shooting UK up in preseason polls. A lot of them had UK unranked, but now UK is trending in the 15-20 range; which seems fair before the start of the season.

And that seems fair. Before, I thought UK " COULD " be a borderline top 25 team....but now I think they're firmly in top 20, approaching 15 range. Momcilovic is worth a 7 or 8 spot jump, in my opinion.
