Top 15-20.
Looking at the SEC, I may be overly optimistic, but I see an opportunity to finish top four and get a double bye for the SEC tourney.
Florida is obviously the class of the conference. I would be surprised to see anyone else win the regular season. The other top 25 preseason ranked squads look no better than we do now (on paper).
UT is ranked top 10 and had a nice portal haul, but nobody significant came back from last year’s team, so they are completely dependent on the portal guys clicking and being able to play together.
Arkansas is per usual for Cal a Freshman dominant team. Also looks very guard and wing dominant. None of their bigs really impress me. Definitely a downgrade after losing Brazille, Pringle, and Ewin.
Bama is ranked higher than us, but a team likely starting Brandon Garrison at Center really doesn’t scare me all that much. A lot hinges on Holloway’s legal issues as well.
Texas looks pretty good, but pretty transfer heavy.
Vandy will be carried by Tanner, who I think is Preseason SEC POY.
I think we are right there with all of them, a notch or two below the Gators, and a notch or two above the rest of the pack.
My way too early SEC rankings:
1 Florida
2 Texas
3 Kentucky
4 Tennessee
5 Vanderbilt
6 Arkansas
7 Alabama
8 Missouri
9 Georgia
10 Oklahoma
11 Auburn
12 Mississippi St.
13 Ole Miss
14 Texas A&M
15 South Carolina
16 LSU
