I don't think he'll be back this year either. However, maybe I'm too much of an optimist, but if he doesn't play this year, I feel like there's at least some tiny chance he will next year.

If he is still in the top 10 NBA pick just don't see him returning next year.

Agree. If there's a team that's willing to pick him in the top 10, he won't be back. But if he doesn't play the rest of this season, it will have been almost a year and a half since he's actually played other than the very few games in limited action for us when he would step on an NBA court. That has to be a question mark for an NBA team. Then again, I care nothing about the NBA, so what do I know?

I think JQ falls into the high potential category and some team will be willing to take him in the first round, maybe even in the lottery.

I'm just saying it's possible that his inability to play this year is lowering his NBA potential.

Always possible, but I'd be shocked if he declared and didn't go first rd. Guess it will depend on what his overall goals are in making that decision.

I'd love to see a full year of him healthy in blue.

Me being an optimist....the NIL he's getting is enough to keep him here another year

                    8. Chicago Bulls

                    Jayden Quaintance, C, Kentucky
                    Sophomore

2025-26 stats: 5.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 0.8 blocks in four games

Quaintance sat out Kentucky's game over the weekend with what was described by coach Mark Pope as knee swelling, a situation NBA teams will hope doesn't turn into a prolonged absence coming off of his ACL surgery last March. Results have been uneven in his four games back, with a strong game against St. John's his only notable showing, in which his physicality and defensive play impressed. Opinions on Quaintance are more mixed than this placement might indicate, as scouts have questions about his offensive limitations as a smaller center who probably won't space the court or warrant focused touches. But the dearth of top-end center prospects in this class and Quaintance's strong defensive potential should keep him in the conversation for teams targeting frontcourt help.

As it stands, Chicago should be thinking about how to address the position long term, with Nikola Vucevic now 35 and in the final year of his contract. Pairing Quaintance, a lob threat and potential defensive floor-raiser, with Josh Giddey could be a viable fit.

Loaded at the top, the 2026 Draft class is shaping up to be one of the best classes of the last decade.

If this remains consistent through end of the season, JQ will not return.

                        4. Hawks: Caleb Wilson, UNC

                        5. Kings: Kingston Flemings, Houston

                        10. Grizzlies: Jayden Quaintance, Kentucky

The college basketball season is finally amid conference play, with several of the country's top talents now facing off against one another on a nightly basis.

JQ returning is wishful thinking at this point. Everything points to him being a mid-Lottery Pick.

20 Hawks (Cavs) Jayden Quaintance C – Kentucky – HT: 6-10 – WT: 230 – WING: 7-4 – So – JQ is an elite defensive talent with great strength, length, versatility and awesome defensive instincts. He’s a very pedestrian offensive player, limited to scoring around the rim, which limits his upside. He’s also been very slow to come back from his ACL injury and is now being held out of basketball activities. His injury history will certainly hinder his draft stock.
Late January Update: Keaton Wagler continues to rise up the draft board, Flemings is an absolute stud, Nate Ament is finding his groove

Based upon this scale, JQ would need to be projected to go lower than 20 for a return to be an intelligent move for him.

That's on the low end of possibility from all that I've read.

Be not an hypocrite in the sight of men, and take good heed what thou speakest. Exalt not thyself, lest thou fall, and bring dishonour upon thy soul, and so God discover thy secrets, and cast thee down in the midst of the congregation, because thou camest not in truth to the fear of the Lord, but thy heart is full of deceit.?
