I think he will be fine still. Being out a few weeks adjusting to new role in a new system. JQ still out and AJ hasn't been here long on campus, some growing pains for sure. I also don't like the fact this game was early November.

Louisville played hard and won, Brown had a Chapman like game, it is what it is.

We will learn get better and be ready in my opinion.

I was very pleased with our effort and fight. I was pretty disappointed with our offensive execution and our defense.

I know we have guys out or not 100%, but between this and the Georgetown exhibition, I'm starting to wonder if this team is nearly as good as we thought they would be.

I get that Lowe made some bad plays. The missed front end and a couple turnovers down the stretch changed the game. I think UK wins if he makes those FT. However, we're not close without him. They're better when Garrison sits. Oweh was -16 when he was on the floor. They can't have that and expect to win. He needs to get back to himself. A fully healthy Lowe, Oweh, and Quaintance makes this team dangerous. When JQ gets back I think you'll see Garrison's minutes diminish drastically.

          What's going on with Oweh

I know Lowe is not 100% yet

I don't think Oweh is 100% yet either.

Much of our issues last night came down to guys trying to play hero ball instead of trusting their teammates. Oweh, Lowe, and Johnson all had bigtime issues with trying to do too much in critical situations.

Once this team learns to trust their teammates and keep the ball moving, they will do amazing things.

Louisville wanted it more... especially their fans. I don't think I've ever heard a UL crowd as into a game as they were tonight. I swear, for a second I actually thought they were going to storm the court there at the end.

I didn't post this in this forum, because I'm not all about pissing off fellow Cats fans....but I told a couple of people today here in Texas and text a couple more friends and told them I thought Louisville was going to win. Not because I think they're a better team, but because that's the law of averages. That Georgetown preseason loss was a bit of an eye opener, and the team isn't 100% healthy. Add in that Louisville is a really good team, the game was at their place, and the "they're due" theory....and everything just pointed to this outcome.

Oh well, it's early...and it's just one game. I'll trade this out of conference loss for a sweep of Michigan State, Indiana, Gonzaga, UNC and St. John's.
I also had a feeling Louisville would take this one from the second the game was announced.

Why? It’s hard to win on the road. It’s even harder to do it in the third game of the season.

I also gave a lot of credence to the “they’re due” mantra. Starting with Cal’s arrival in the 2009-10 season, Louisville wins the regular season meeting every fourth year in Louisville. This was a fourth year in Louisville.

                Regular season results:
                2009-10: W
                2010-11: W @ Yum
                2011-12: W

                2016-17: L @ Yum
                2017-18: W
                2018-19: W @ Yum
                2019-20: W
                2020-21: L @ Yum

Silly mistakes (like stepping out of bounds on a drive, launching a 3 before even making a pass, etc.) lost us the game. That and missing free throws, especially the front ends of 1 and 1’s in crunch time.

But rallying back from 20 down to make it a game, that is encouraging. This team will bounce back.

I usually give the home team +4 off the top, so I count this as a 4 point loss.

I wonder if we have someone on the bench recovering from ACL surgery that could make up those 4 points when healthy? Hmmm….

If we see them in March on a neutral floor and both teams are completely healthy, I would give UK the edge due to adding Quaintance at the 5 spot and the revenge factor. This one will stick with the guys for a long time, with the way UofL players (“F UK”) ran their mouths leading up to the game.

We just have to get healthy and stay healthy and we should be fine.

A bit of a sobering game for me. Oh well, take some frustrations out on Friday and get ready for MSU next week.

Looking beyond the stats turnovers key moments etc, I chalk it up to this.

One team can out on a mission looking for a W while the other team came out head in the clouds and decided to start playing 30 minutes into the game.

I hate Louisville and I don't like to lose to anytime but this actually needed to happen, just like the Georgetown. Just because it's Kentucky with all the off court hoop la 365/ 24/7 doesn't mean you just show up and get a W. All the preseason rankings players of the year blah blah blah doesn't mean nothing, in fact put even more a target on the teams back.

I still think we will be fine but it Pope is committed to raining 3's all year, needs to make sure the 3 point shooters are in the game.... In college, AJ can play 5 along with many other switchable pieces to the puzzle...

This was one of my concerns going into the year. This team isn't built like last year to bomb away, not everyone needs the greenlight from 3.

I didn't have a good feeling about this game. Thought UK might still pull out a win.
Louisville is good and they had the best player on the court. Road game and UK dealing with some injuries.
. Louisville out toughed them. That alone is a recipe for a loss on the road.
These team will drop several road games if it doesn't get tougher. Louisville bullied them at times. That can't happen if you expect to win against good teams especially on the road.

With a healthy team along with JQ. I like Kentucky's chances should there be a March rematch. I bet the committee will do their best to set up a rematch in the later rounds. Providing both teams win 2-3 games in March.

I am waiting to see what UL will do against a team like Duke & NC. UL is very good team but did they play their very best game last night ?
