For hyperbole effect, you did good. Exaggerated to a ridiculous degree. Very entertaining. But the truth is the numbers indicate a much different story.

    Free Throw Percentage - .776

    Yes, he did.

So....using your logic....Kellan Grady should be in the NBA right now. Because he could shoot the lights out at UK. And Travis Ford should have been drafted back in the mid 90s.

Jaxson Robinson wasn't drafted, but he could shoot. Matter of fact he signed with an NBA team as a free agent after the draft. And he went through the exact same NBA draft combine process last year that Oweh did this year.

Is Otega Oweh a perfect player? Please....let's not be silly. But is he the SEC preseason Player of the Year favorite? Yes, he was recently named that. And is he considered one of the top Shooting Guards in college basketball this year? Yes....Sports Illustrated listed him as the #1 Shooting Guard heading into this season:

So let's keep things in perspective and try to avoid being overly dramatic.

That’s not my logic at all. I don’t even know where you are coming from.

    Seems like confirmation bias.

I watch the players play. Oweh can’t shoot.

But yes, if Grady and Ford had Oweh’s height and athletic ability they would have been pros.

If Oweh had a shot he would be in the NBA now. Or maybe if he other skills?

He can’t play the point. He could mitigate his poor shooting if he had point guard skills.

You can play with numbers and analytics all you want. They don’t tell the story.

Someone tried to use analytics to tell me Amari Williams was a good rebounder.

I had no idea what Oweh’s free throw percentage was. But I knew from watching he was a good free throw shooter.

I also know from watching that he is not a good shooter.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion....but remember.... that's all it is: YOUR opinion! The masses disagree with you, as evidenced by Otega Oweh being named the preseason SEC Player of the Year and by being ranked the #1 Shooting Guard in the country by Sports Illustrated.

There's an old saying - numbers don't lie. And judging by the numbers, Oweh's shot, while maybe not the prettiest looking or having textbook form.... and perhaps not having ideal ball rotation and very deep range on his shot...connects at very respectable rates. Nearly 50% from the floor, 36% from three, and 77% from the charity stripe is what most people would consider "respectable". If he "couldn't shoot", his numbers would be nowhere near that good.

So you can think he can't shoot all you want...but if he duplicates those percentages this year, I'll be happy.

I don't have all the answers but do know one thing, glad Oweh is on our team.

It's almost season time, I can see we are already starting to get rowdy round here lol lol lol

It's all good, I think we in for a big season. The problems we endure this year may be good problems to have, better than the years past problems.

I am anxious to see the development of our returning guys as well as the new guys..
