There is no longer a Political Forum.

      1. Football has not given us much hope over the first couple of games and then EMU was what it was supposed to be. That is keeping some (including me) from posting on football. I just do not want to continue to post negative on football over and over. There is time for them to get better but coaching is the same.
      2. Pope has done a great job of getting content out all summer. I tried to put all of that in one post where posters can go and click on tons of videos.
There has been some things to talk about this summer but not much. Pope and Kelsey at Kinneys house (probably overblown a bit), Oweh in a boot and JQ progress. Besides that really nothing to discuss much as the updates have been fun vids but not much content for sure.

      3. Other sports does not do much on forum. Volleyball team is killing it most games but still have 2 blips to ranked teams on the screen. Soccer is doing well but I personally do not get into soccer much.

      4. Political board which for some reason I am not part of any longer is into the first year of new president. As we get to mid terms or year 3 wit candidates it will pick up. I get tired of my Republican and Democrat friends going at each other. Especially in the past several years. I have been a member of both parties and have voted on both sides of the isle over the years. The rhetoric is just too much to keep up with all the time. And i think others are taking breaks from that as well.

Hopefully in about 19 days when BBM kicks off we will have more to talk about or maybe if UK can find a way to pull off the W at the Game****************s house then we might have more to post about. Last game I think I did 99% of the posts or it felt like it lol.
The political forum has been hidden for now because it was the center of alot of the background drama.

I'm in my late 50s pushing 60. I can't recall a time where Kentucky football has ever given us any hope. The one time they had a kick ass team in the late 70s and went something like 14-1 and were ranked near the top 5 they were on probation! Aside from an upset win against a #1 ranked LSU every couple of decades or so, I know better than to put much stock in UK football. That's why I have to double down on my enthusiasm and hope for UK basketball.....

EDIT: Included link referencing the 1977 UK football team that was on probation:

With the volatility of politics these past few years it is probably for the best. Great call by whomever or those that made that decision.

The good ol political forum is what got me booted a few years back. It wasn't so much about the everyday members with whom I have had many disagreements and arguments with over the years in regards to UK basketball philosophy etc. One day I simply snapped on a new poster who would constantly troll my post, totally out of character and uncalled for on my end. I deserved to be suspended but not banned , I was actually surprised about that to be honest. I was canceled out lol lol.. 20 plus years over 50k post and gone lol..

Still I never take any of this personal when it comes to basketball football or UK related stuff, it's still just a game. I am more concerned about 1. Waking up in the morning and 2. Trying to get to heaven..

I agree. Did anyone ever specifically come to this site to join up and talk politics??

I am here for UK basketball and yes anyone who knows Mark Stoops can tell him it is and will always be a basketball school. There is a reason why Rupp would get a Cadillac and Bear Bryant would get a watch lol lol lol...

I love Kentucky football, don't get wrong. Time and time again I would get upbeat and think this would be the year only to be disappointed time and time and time and time again. I feel like it's Tubby Smith dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble, dribble some more and take a bad shot with 1 second on the shot clock offense lol lol lol....

I been let down so many times it's hard to keep faith. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Still I hope in my lifetime that just one time we can kick some you know what and take names in football..

Decisions get made all the time.

This split of long time posters reminds me of others I have seen but those usually involved money or women.

The political forum was highly unmoderated but the conversation could be intelligent most days. Feelings got hurt but we usually got over it.

The board has lost some high quality posters for whatever reason. Hope we have some folk step up.

To respond to an earlier post, I have been a member here for many years and have never seen any indication of a clique of good ole boys. None. This is a good site.

It's a great site and good people. I do hope some of the ones who are MIA come back soon.

FYI I'm not one of "them". I left there for the same reason you're complaining. I guess I didn't get what you were referring to in your OP

Sorry for the confusion. RR really pissed me off because I wanted and tried to register, but I kept getting a notification saying I'd have to pay something like $8.95 per month just to register for an account so that I could post comments in their online forus.

                              What???!!??!!!

That enraged me, so I never bothered....but unfortunately, that place was much more active than here.....so I'd lurk both places for the best and latest info.... because I like to stay up to date on things.

My fear is that a lot of people who were grandfathered in over there may have been told they'd have to start paying, so they looked for other alternatives and ended up coming over here.....have now returned over there for whatever reason. Maybe they ended up scrapping their pay model. Maybe they decided to continue letting those grandfathered in remain without having to pay. I don't know...but it sure seems like we got a hell of a nice boost in traffic here.....only to lose most of it when this site went down about a month ago.

LOL....I guess old habits are hard to break. You were complaining about Tubby 16, 17 years ago.... and you're STILL complaining about Tubby! LOL...I was ready for him to go, that's for sure...but I never hated the man. Matter of fact, I used to tell people that I'd like to see him removed as the head basketball coach but given the AD position that Barnhardt has. Kind of like when C.M. Newton left coaching at Vandy to take the AD position at UK I hope that in 16 or 17 years I don't hate Cal the way I do now....but I can't make any promises. I didn't like Tubby's recruiting or style of play, but I never questioned if he wanted to win or cared about the state of the program, the fans, and it's tradition. With Cal, I have all of those concerns because Cal proved that he was all about Cal and would raise a middle finger to the fans, boosters, alumni, etc.
