That is a balanced roster Pope assembled that has the pieces to win #9 this. Hopefully no major injuries and stay healthy to make a run!

I don’t know who will start, but I think the best five combination will be:

G Lowe
G Aberdeen
G Oweh
F Dioubate
F Quaintance

That team should be able to score and defend with anybody in the nation.

People worry about 3 point shooting, but Aberdeen, Oweh, and Dioubate are efficient shooters. If Lowe can be more efficient and takes good shots, shooting won’t be a problem for that group.

But the biggest thing is defense. That group should be a nightmare to score on. Especially once Quaintance is in there to anchor the defense. Oweh, Dioubate, and Quaintance might be the best defensive trio in the country.

And that group has lots of experience. Aberdeen and Oweh are Seniors that have played in a power conference their entire careers. Lowe and Dioubate are Juniors who have played in a power conference the last two years. Quaintance is only a Sophomore, but was on the Big 12 All-Defensive Team as a Freshman. That group won’t have to step up their games much, because they have already been playing at this level.

I am very excited to watch this group grow together. Their primary weakness is that they haven’t played together as a group yet.

Can you imagine trying to score on that group? Lowe is the defensive weak spot but everyone else can lock you down and take your lunch money in the process. If Lowe learns to stay in front of his man better then he likely won’t be a weakness. He appears to have the quickness for it. This group could be nasty.

Heard Pope is trying to get UK into the NBA post season next year after we go 41-0. He wants to play the NBA Champs for winner take call 3 game series. Lol

No it is hard not to get excited about this team. Just want them to stay healthy this summer with all the workouts and pick up games. This team has guys that want to go all out and I am guessing the staff has their hands full just keeping the reigns on them.

I sure hope so I’m not getting any younger I’ve seen 4 Championships and would love to see at least a couple more starting this season. Pope is the man and I want him to have a heck of a run at KY.

Coach Pope has laid a foundation for greatness. He is a great recruiter, understands the modern game, and can get players to buy in to playing roles for the benefit of the team. I think he will win multiple Championships and coach here longer than anyone not named Rupp

I think this also my friend. Seems like all the pieces are in place with depth at every position. No super stars, just a good talented roster

Honestly, I wouldn't be afraid to get it on with anybody last years final 4 with those 5 starters and a solid 6-7 deep on the bench
