We haven't moderated much of anything here in some years. The poster who's ill, Lighthouse, did NOT like cursing and he'd moderate sometimes...including us. But there hasn't been a need here for several years to really do much of anything.
The stress test for moderation usually comes in with game threads and/or controversial threads. Game threads usually bring out the negative posters...and those folks tend to piss people off because they just won't stop in their relentless, at times freakish negativity. But of course without SOME negativity and "realism" you can't even have decent conversation.
I won't lie; I'm hard up on Kentucky basketball. Called for Calipari to be fired early on when I realized he was doing what Calipari does, then new he'd try and ruin us on the way out, which he did. People close to the situation know how it went down, I make no apologies for it. Excellence is to be expected. I wanted the Pope hire as I knew we needed to revamp the Pitino years and get back to Kentucky instead of the NBA persona. I will say because UNC used to be the "place of the pros", I am glad we took that title. It was necessary as all we were missing historically was NBA HOF's and vets, or didn't have enough of them. All in all, I'm okay as long as ALL of the records are upheld, all of them. SEC titles, head-to-head wins, F4's etc. I hated and complained to many that would buy into Calipari's nonsense "SEC title don't matter", "losing a few to Kansas is just a regular season game" etc. Still hate how many wins he allowed kansas to get, totally unacceptable given our history in that game. We had way too many buying into Calipari's nonsense, and it began to turn into the University of Excuses. But other than that, I'm not a problem. Judt won't tolerate dumping all over the accomplishments of the men before us and backing mediocracy, it's far too important for that. Pope was necessary, but if he doesn't get it done, he's gotta go. I think given that recruting is done by payment now and he's got the brand behind him, I see no way he doesn't work. I've gotten older now into my late 30's so it's calmed down, but there's no guarantees.
I've come to find that the ones like me who grew up learning kentucky in the 90's, or the ones who grew up during Rupp, just get what this is supposed to be about a little more. So I guess mods can be necessary for those
Man dealing with lawyers, what are the chances. You wouldn't happen to be takin pro bono probate work at the moment would ya?
I rarely handle probate. I’m staying in my lane doing criminal law for the most part. I have found over the years my criminal clients are much more level headed than divorce or probate clients. 😂
I think a case can be made that post counts are meaningless and shouldn't be shown over there. They tend to obfuscate the conversation sometimes...and in this case, most of the Rafters crew had thousands of posts anyway over there. And also: why should it even matter. Sometimes the person who talks the most has the least to say.
I agree to a certain extent. But you can also tell the trolls who show up by very low post counts to cause trouble as opposed to long term posters.
Welcome aboard all you RR folks. I’ve been away from this board myself for a while, but go all the way back to its origins and have remained close to many on here through the tailgates which I started back in 1999 and still go on to this day. Looking forward to help rekindle this site and be an integral part going forward. Get back to my roots so to speak. We will never be a pay site. Mel never wanted that. We may have an occasional donation drive to help cover costs, but it’s strictly volunteer. Looking forward to a new beginning

Honestly I never knew this site existed. It's cool that this fanbase can support forums on at least three sites (probably more) that are bigger than the biggest forum for most teams.

Yea it's a big estate and certain members of my family did the usual, fraud, lied about whereabouts, no investigation, corrupt lawyer, the usual. I did survive it, barely. however, not spending 100,000 dollars to put it in front of a judge. Might call the universities and see if they have a new grad who wants to take it. heard it happens. If you change your mind, I'll give you 38%.

Now THERE is a face I've not seen in a LONG time. How's it hanging Morg?

I just moseyed over to Rupp's Rafters to see what was what... and holy crap... talk about screwing the pooch.
I saw a Matt Jones post, so I assume that On3 has combined Rivals with KSR to make one big pay board?
What a terrible, terrible decision.
Just for giggles, I tried to log-in there using my Rivals account information. It is supposed to work. But it doesn't. So for further laughs, I tried to register a brand new account. The registration process doesn't even work! LMAO. When I get to the end of the process and try to submit, the submit button doesn't even function. That place is an absolute joke! What a disaster.
And now I see the old forum has been completely shut down. I tried to go into the old Rivals forums a few minutes ago to see what the stay-behinds were saying and they're gone, with just a redirect to the on3 site that doesn't even function. The place is a literal ghost town. I imagine the few folks who actually want to join there can't because of the problem I encountered above. I guess the new Wildcats Illustrated is now a forum where only the mods and admins chat with each other. There's literally nobody else there. What an epic fail. I can only shake my head.
