I've been done with rafters for a while. The mod situation there was jut too inconsistent. Good posters getting timeouts, trolls remain. Just too much nonsense to deal with. Not to mention I'm not sure it will even be free. They "say" it will be, but I have my doubts

We haven't moderated much of anything here in some years. The poster who's ill, Lighthouse, did NOT like cursing and he'd moderate sometimes...including us. But there hasn't been a need here for several years to really do much of anything.

The stress test for moderation usually comes in with game threads and/or controversial threads. Game threads usually bring out the negative posters...and those folks tend to piss people off because they just won't stop in their relentless, at times freakish negativity. But of course without SOME negativity and "realism" you can't even have decent conversation.

You all have been very welcoming and I also like to have different avenues to talk about the Cats and shoot the breeze with the crazies.

I think a case can be made that post counts are meaningless and shouldn't be shown over there. They tend to obfuscate the conversation sometimes...and in this case, most of the Rafters crew had thousands of posts anyway over there. And also: why should it even matter. Sometimes the person who talks the most has the least to say.

There's nothing on eather of the paid boards to pay for.. I was a hob subscriber for years.. There used to be a few plugged in guys but since Kal has left they have zero insiders.. This past recruiting cycle proved that.. Majority of the actual inside stuff that comes out on paid sites will be on twitter by the days end anyway.. I can wait a few hours to get inside scoop for free.. Add in all the bull crap that has happened the past 2-4 days,, they can stick it wherever they please..
