Ah, calendars solve a lot of issues, but in 2025 I still have friends and family that don’t use one. Maddening.

The gist of “fan investment” is simply that: priorities. Everyone’s are different. A lot of people on this site have “UK basketball” a higher priority than UK fans not on a fan site. To each their own.

I remember the story of the infamous Memphis door. It was a fun story to me even though I wasn’t a watcher. Other fans laughed, some no doubt cringed. People watching, I’d hope, had a fun time with it. It was one unique (I think?) story in the history of BBN that Cal points at and says “you people are crazy”. Tracking planes, calling realtor friends, etc.

IMO, he believed that on day 1. On his last day I’m sure the tone/meaning of “you people are crazy” wasn’t embraced the same as day 1. Dare I say he meant it in a more derogatory manner.

”This program isn’t for everyone”. Truth. Gillespie fought it prolly the minute after the presser. Tubby felt its weight in the final years. Joe B infamously termed the championship year as “no fun”, or another. Ricky felt it a minute after the UofL presser

Herbstreit has been dealing with similar with the tOSU football fans.

You best believe I was sitting in my cubicle in the National City (now PNC) Tower in Louisville on the 23rd floor, intently watching that Door like it was The Godfather or Casablanca.

I definitely watched The Door. It was clear pretty early on that nothing was going to happen...but it became a FOMO thing. If I *didn't* watch The Door, something would've absolutely happened.

I still remember that day so vividly that it might as well be burned into my temporal lobe. The Pope hire was obviously way different...until the press conference. Then it solidified into this forever memory.

My 3rd child was born March 27, 2009. Watched BCG running from Alan Cutler while in the hospital. Then watched “the door” while waiting for discharge. That baby is now my most faithful Big Blue buddy.

Sounds like grounds for annulment, to me.

I got married in March 1985. Cats were playing in the SEC tournament. The only TV was a small one at the guard station. My Mother and I were watching. We heard someone calling for us because the cake needed to be cut. We reluctantly left the game 😃

I can’t believe all you people got married during the season. Wild!
                                🤣🤣🤣
