My late father-in-law wouldn't get married on a certain day because UK played, IIRC. That was 40 years ago. I'll have to ask my wife the whole story, but I think my mother-in-law (not really a fan at all, whereas her dad was a massive UK fan) was pretty peeved about it.

In the Catholic church they make you do these pre-marriage workshops. We did it over at this retreat center on a day UK was playing, and they wouldn't let me out of the center to listen to the game in my car. They finally let me out, I ran outside and got to hear the last few minutes of the game on the radio. Close call and honestly one of the few games I missed on TV through the late '90s/early 2000s.

It is but still, sore subject.

To this day, if UK begins to struggle my father will "go to the radio," which means he leaves the house and listens to the game in his truck. It happens often enough that I can't swear by its effectiveness, but it's a tradition, nonetheless, and something only an invested fan would do.

I've posted in other threads, but this one seems to be a better place. W.r.t to my expectations as a fan:
            1) I want to see a well coached, prepared team on the court! I want to see Tim Duncan neutralized because the coach said "here's the game plan".
            2) No UK team should miss the tournament, regardless of a single player season-ending injury (I'm looking at the Noel year here) - I might grumble and shrug if it was this year, but damn we came pretty close with Jaxon making, what, half the year. Krissa out all but 7. I'm looking at Amari - if he was season-ending at game 2 or 3 - what would a reasonable expectation be - make the tourney, with this conference? Meh, I might have to say "okay, circumstances". Might. (Plus, this year was a "freebie", IMO)
            3) The majority of years (say, 3-4) UK should "hold seed" in the tourney. Yes, upsets happen. But they should be exceptions, not expectations.
            4) I want to enjoy a game and most of the time if its close have hope that the team can pull out the win not expect to find a way to lose (I'm looking at you 2018-2024 seasons - eak).

Are these reasonable? Doesn't matter - to each their own.

Yes. I'm pretty sure it was this game vs. South Carolina. (Jon Scott also tells me it was the birthday of former UK player and current Arkansas Razorback Kareem Watkins.)

              Tayshaun had 29.

How is Kareem Watkins still in college? We make those jokes a lot, but seriously. He’s been with Cal forever.

I've known a lot of people that can't watch the end of close games and will go outside or in another room.

I don't understand, but I don't need to understand. Anxiety is not good!

When Tivo first came out, I freaked out a friend by rewinding a play. He freaked out because we were no longer watching "live" and that tweaked him. He stood fast that he would never watch a recorded game and even being "behind" he didn't like.

For those that remember, Tivo came out a long time ago, and that friend mentioned a few months ago that he was getting ready to watch a recorded game. I gave him the business over that.

BTW - I asked him about streaming services (Sling TV, Hulu TV live, etc.) - for anyone that listens to the radio knows, the streams can be 20-60+ seconds behind live action. My friend chooses to not acknowledge the delayed stream

Matt - can you send a screen shot here and maybe we can discern the issue?

As some of us know painfully well, I’m not “tech-savvy” and so I doubt I will figure it out.

My iPhone is up to date . I also tried to visit using cellular data. Just glad to know it’s me and that his glorious collection of info is still online.

I think Cathy who posts here has talked about this. I had a boss who did it. Also have a friend here who doesn't watch much UK ever. Don't think he likes the rage it puts in him. Watches highlights the next day.

For me the emotion is the thing. Gotta stick it out to feel the adrenaline rush of that W.
