Can't shoot (unless it's against us). But he'll go little movements of games that show he can be a very good college player. He took over that St. John's game for a little bit. If he had a consistent jumpshot he'd be an all-SEC type of guy.Comment

You look up the definition of hot and cold and you'll find a picture of Wagner.
Not bashing o the kid but honestly there were games he played at Kentucky where I thought...yeah he'll be in the NBA. Then other games were like 'is Wagner sick??'

Yes...but after 2 years under Cal I thought he would at least test the waters or maybe transferComment

Darius Acuff Jr., 6"2 Point guard.
Either Wagner is being paid so much by Arkansas it doesn't matter or he's just dumb, did he not learn a lesson playing behind Fland last year until Fland went down???
Acuff is not a elite shooter, a old school get to the rim type of guard.
Is Cal going to play two PG's who really can't consistently shoot.
I don't feel sorry for Cal or Arkansas, but do wish DJ well. Still, makes not sense for Wagner..

Fland hit the portal yesterday. And, in true Cal fashion, Cal took to Twitter to sell the NBA on Fland.
So glad we're done with that kind of thing. This is college basketball, as flawed and strange as it is. Being an NBA pitch man is ridiculous and unnecessary.Comment

And yet it works. The scouts fall for it. SO MANY Cal kids go pro before they’re ready. Reed Sheppard is awesome. But should he have been in the NBA or college last season (this season for pros)? It’s one thing he got drafted, but top 5?? Good sell Cal.Comment

I think there have been enough Cal players who have been good to great pros that at this point he has a track record of being a sort of de facto NBA gatekeeper. So much so that they'll look away from some obvious flaws in players and take them anyway on a gambit.
Another reason why it's good we moved on. Because that wasn't going to stop. The NBA pandora's box opened with Cal in the mid 2000s and it was impossible to close it...mostly because he had no desire to close it.Comment

Seems there also been enough former Cal players to underperform their draft position—and paycheck—they would scout and pay attention to the flaws rather than listen to a former unsuccessful NBA coach to tell them who is good. For every good surprise (supreme example being SGA) there are 3 or 4 Kevin Knox’s. Those guys have a business to run, correct?Comment
