I wouldn't mind to see Alabama make the final four and then maybe see Nate Oats here in a couple years (although Mitch wouldn't do it).

I saw a thing the day the tournament started from an analytics guy and he predicted one of Illinois, Alabama, or Kentucky would lose on the first day of the tournament because of our defense.
Interesting that here Illinois and Bama are, and Kentucky was the only one knocked out. That suggests it wasn't *only* defense. Other stuff going on with us, defense was just a part. Just general want-to, hustle, grit were also super important. We played basketball like it was make-it/take-it.Comment

It's now in an unfortunate league of various and sundry other objects that should have been lucky the last five years but WERE NOT.
1. New Orleans SEC Tournament t-shirt from 2003 with THE SUFFOCATS on the front. Smedium. Pit stains. Used to be magic, now useless.
2. Various rubber balls my son and I hold. None of them work.
3. A UK wildcat-styled rubber duck. See below.
4. An actual wooden mallard that looks like it would be in some grandma's house in 1978. The reason: went to a friend's house to watch the '98 Final Four game against Stanford, the Jeff Sheppard game. He had these weird decorative ducks and I held one all through the game. Carried us to the win. Over the years I've bought at least three wooden mallards to try and recreate the magic. We brought one up the other night for the game and...no duck.
It's almost like...and hear me out hear because I know this is crazy...but it's almost like all that stuff is nonsense and superstition isn't even a real thing?!😂 1Comment

The reason we won the championship in 1998 is because me and my college roommate switched seats with each other at halftime.

What UConn has done in their last 9 tournament games is unreal. Average margin of victory of 22+ ppg and all in double digits. That's UK in '93, '95, '96 territory for dominant tournament runs. And if they win it this year that will be 6 Titles in 25 years. Only surpassed by UCLA's runComment

I know why they're not, but UConn doesn't get enough mention in the Blue Blood debate. I'd vote "no" just because of how they seem to go through phases of mediocrity in between their stretches of brilliance, but they won their first 5 titles in a stretch of 24 years. Duke won their first 5 in a stretch of 24 years.
If UConn wins this year, UConn > Duke? 🤔I am LittlemeyerComment

Well, IMO, UConn is every bit a "blue blood" due to their condensed championships. 5 in 24 years with 3 different coaches is pretty impressive.
When people begin to discuss programs its hard unless parameters are applied. Is it purely NCs? Then its easy, UCLA then UK. But its generally not that single parameter.Comment

Thanks for the warning, But just because another coach makes a fool out of themselves doesn't excuse Cal's embarrassing antics!John 3:3

How reassuring. Jon Scheyer running laps around Cal in postseason success. How many coaches out there have more tournament wins than Cal the last 3 or 4 years—probably 70 or 80? And the vast majority of them without nearly the resources they would have at UK. But, sure, you gotta have a coach already in the hall of fame lined up under the table before you dare get rid of someone who is proven to be washed up.
Yeah. I’m still aggravated. Most get over it in a day and decide it’s fine we still have Cal. I still know he’s done and next year will be another thud. Truly disappointed with Mitch.
Sure hope someone ends Duke’s bid at a title.👍 3Comment
