One thing I remember I always liked about him was when he would write about him and his grand son would go play golf together on fall Saturdays. After playing golf they would go home and watch the Kentuckty football game they had DVR'd. I'm sure that was special times for him and his grandson. Something his grandson will always cherish.
      Kentucky fan since 1971.

Some things are happening with me that I wanted you to know about just in case I totally disappear from the site one of these days and I didn't want it spread throughout the site to just anyone. You may or (may not have) noticed I haven't been on the site much lately........mainly because of four - 3-5 day hospital stays for blood transfusions. I entered hospice care yesterday. Prognosis is 2-6 months and there are no treatment options with any chance of success.

Anyway, I wanted you to pass on my gratitude for the friendships I have found in this forum. Guys like you and Rick, and Will Lavender, the two Matt's have come to mean a lot to me and have brightened many of this old man's days. I humbly thank all of you.

        Love all of you.

        Norman

Thank you for sharing this with us.....made me cry...RIP Kynut

My trolling of the site goes back to the end of Tubby's era though I never posted till the recent reboot. You read thousands of a gentleman's posts over the years and kind of feel like you know him even if you never met. It's nice to read such nice posts about him from those who really did know him personally.

I too will miss Mr. McPeek and send prayers and condolences to his loved ones. Root our Cats on from above kynut.

Someone from Norman's family did notice....I am his oldest daughter, Penny. I am truly touched by your posts. I have laughed and cried and identified with your comments. Dad was a true blue fan to the core for as long as I knew what UK stood for. He truly did drive to the highest point to listen to KY basketball on the radio back when Adolph Rupp coached. When we lived in Missouri, he climbed on top of the roof after an ice storm to get reception. Once we moved to VA where he could get reception at the house, he played the games so loud I could hear them through the floor! Your friendship, insights, posts, meant so much to him. He spoke of blogging often which seemed funny at the time since most seniors are not so adept at that kind of thing. But that was dad, very intelligent, very opinionated, but at the same time wise, respectful of others opinions, funny and so loving to his friends and family. Thank you for your comments, your love and friendship.

Thanks for coming here and posting this message. Despite not having ever met your father I feel like I knew him. We argued back and forth about UK (in a friendly way), discussed UK sports just like I do with my brother, dad, and friends. I am sure he was a great guy and he will be missed.

I am terribly sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Wow Penny, Thank You so much for coming to WCN and telling us more about your Dad. I'm so emotional right now I can hardly type. If a person can Love someone without ever meeting them, that's the way I felt about kynut. How I wish I had driven to Bristol to watch a UK game with him like I mentioned to him when he let me have it after a game when he felt the Officials had given our CATS a raw deal. May God grant you and your family His Strength and Peace! We will miss kynut a lot here. Please come back after awhile, I think you'll be glad you did.

Thank you for coming here and telling us little more about him. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and the entire family. May God bless you all and give you peace.

You have a back and forth with members of this forum and feel like you know them, you feel like you are friends. I was stunned when I found out how old he was a few years ago... I will really miss his contribution, especially come football season, I know he waited for us to be good longer than anyone....

                          My condolences for your loss.
