Jeeeesus. “Some three and some four.”

Bradshaw at the three, Ugo at the four, Ware at the five; a raunchier Calipari wet dream could not exist.

Dude look how huge we could go.

      Adou
      Edwards
      Bradshaw
      Ware
      Ugo

Cal's genius plan is finally coming into focus. Who scores over those guys? They'd win every game 16-12.

Even better than BCG dreaming of 5 guys ranging 6’-6” to 6’-8”.

I don’t know why, but this reminded me of Blue_N_White carrying on about “6’7” slashing wings.”

                Super solid role players.

Except for Pilgrim, who we all know was a Beast.

Unless you are 5"8 can jump out of the gym and can consistently create and score, should of never been at Kentucky in the first place. Sorry not sorry, i said it...

Good read on some of the Final four teams this year, especially the no name teams, they can all score. We have a few scorers year in year out but once you figure out how to shut those few scorers down, it's all over. Anyone think Anthony Davis would sacrifice and come to Kentucky to take the least amount of shots in 2023???

The game has changed Cal has not, teams now score from all 5 positions. Cal has to open this offense up and still find a way to defend at the same time....

Right or wrong, just ranting today, just how i feel...

I’d put Patterson a notch or two higher than role player.

Yeah. The difference: on a decent team Patterson was the star. On a great team, he was a (very good) role player.

It helps that all of these teams are constantly moving, have more than one guy who can take their man, and hit open threes when kicked to.

Our team could do this... a little... depending on who we were matched up with... and who decided to show up...

By the end of the year, we were playing with one guy who could take his man, one guy who could hit a wide open three, some forwards who were terrified of physicality and who didn't know a shot closer that fifteen feet, and an undersized center with average athleticism and footwork. So when one thing failed, we lost. Add in an archaic offense that put zero premium on movement or any real sort of fluidity and you ended up with zero margin for error. Our best offense was to jack up trash and hope Oscar could clean it up. Not exactly a recipe for tourney success.

It all goes back to the way the roster was built. I'm not even sure if it was really all Cal's fault, either. I'm sure he expected CJ to be the second sniper, Wheeler to be a repeat of his first year, and Toppin and Livingston to be explosive, at-the-rim guys who could hide some of Oscar's weaknesses. We all thought we had one of our best rosters in year watching the team in August.

^ I'll give Toppin some major credit because I thought he turned into a really good player.

And I still don't think the offense was that archaic. Were we good? Heck no. But to hear UK fans tell it we were playing peach basket basketball.

That was an okay offensive team. Okay. Certainly not on UCONN's level but we have a better offensive efficiency rating than two of the four FF teams, and a third team is just a couple spots ahead.

Not terrible, not great. Definitely more of a roster thing than a Cal thing--but really the roster thing is a Cal thing.

To play the defense he wants to play you gotta be able to switch all over the place and that was the main issue and where most of our problems were. I also think the chemistry stuff that's been rumored presented itself mostly on the defensive end, where hustle, scrap, communication, etc. are so important.

But it WAS archaic when you compare our shot charts to every other good offensive teams. Our offensive numbers were skewered positively because we were a historically dominant rebounding team, not because we were running great stuff or getting particularly good shots.

Cal went on record as saying he wanted the fifteen foot jumpers, which is absurd on its face in 2023. Because he knew Oscar would rebound misses? Perhaps, but I think that is giving him too much credit. Nobody of any note plays that way, and if they do its because they're forced into it. It's like Cal has a sick fetish to prove detractors wrong. You know he sees the complaints, on a local and national level.

Cal hasn't run competent offensive sets consistently in five years, and even then it was mainly because guys like Fox and Monk were fast and could get their own. You watch teams like UConn run their stuff and it's almost like they're playing a different sport; I don't need analytics to disprove something that my two eyes can see clearly.

And Toppin was a decent player who possessed elite athleticism but little actual basketball skill.

MJ confirming many things brought up here tonight on his Twitter space.

Good chance Dillingham makes it to UK

Not a good chance Livingston is back
                                Ugonna expected to be back

                                Reeves likely to be back

Sahvir was a problem after he got injured and caused a whole lot of drama over his senior night fiasco then the staff thought he would maybe come back and play in the postseason then Sahvir basically said nah.

Oscar and Cal had a huge rift between them that eventually got better late in the season, but on the court he was a player that could help you and do great things, but also hurt you tremendously. As I said a while back, a lot is gonna clear up just by Oscar and Sahvir moving on. But I'm sure a fresh batch of drama and nonsense will emerge next season.
