The Aggies are really good. Just had a bad November and early December but you don't want to play them on the road. Tennessee has slid but let's not forget they did knock off Bama. Purdue has struggled recently as well. Kentucky just needs to win tonight and hold court at home and they are firmly in and likely will be in as a 7-10 seed.Comment

We went from 35 to 29. But UF fell from 52 to 55. If they can’t find a win somewhere then our 2 wins against Florida could actually fall out of quad 1 category. They’ve got Vandy, UGA and LSU plus a first round tourney game. Not difficult but with Castleton out who knows?
My recommendation for the Cats—just try real hard to win each game! We’re not considered on the bubble now, but try to improve our seed.Comment

However the committee is still looking at the raw ranking so there's a lot of illusion in Quad 1 records. Not just with Kentucky but a lot of teams. That Florida win won't be a major deal if they're trying to debate on our seed line, I wouldn't imagine, because of the Castleton thing.
But it was a game we couldn't lose.Comment

Thinking will get you in trouble.
Quad wins/losses move daily with NET rankings changes.
if you want to think otherwise, continue on. If you want proof, look at Alabama, they now have an 8th Q1 win since UK is 29th NET their previous Q2 win at home is now Q1 win (home win over 1-30 NET).
The NET standings, probably so. But I don't think they change teams' records against Quad 1 as the year goes on. I think that's fixed.

I don't think any of this will matter a ton on SS. I just assume if there's any chance they can work us into the 8/9 that's where we'll be.
Another weird thing about the SEC is how many teams are very similarly ranked in the NET. There are like 5 teams that are moving in and out of Quad 1.
Another thing is how disappointing that Michigan St. game was. Michigan St. has 8 Quad 1 wins and is 36th. Had we guarded on that one out-of-bounds possession Kentucky is probably a top 20 team in the NET today.
