This can't be right. We lost 8 last year, 4 this.

Lost 16 two seasons ago, which is what they're adding in here.

A more interesting (and frightening) thing would be to look at our record at the end of this season and combine it with the COVID season two years ago. I think we're in for 12 or 13 losses this year. If you add that to the 16 from a couple seasons ago that's almost 30 losses...which is worse than Gillispie's last two years.

The reason last season was a dud was because of the one atrocious game. That team was actually solid until the end. They'd kill this current team.

Two. Three, really, if you're counting Vandy, who should've won that first round game.

If we continue on this trajectory, we will not be in NCAA tourney.

I wish Collins would go home; he should of taken a leave of absence from basketball considering the circumstances. Prior to his dad passing, we saw glimpses of his improvement; after his dad passed, the few min. he gets to play, he looks lost. I wouldn't be mad if he entered the portal and transferred to a school closer to home (Texas Tech or UT). What "could've been" we may never know, but due to his circumstances, there is more to life than basketball. I can't begin to imagine how a 20yr old playing on the big stage for a blue blood program could compartmentalize

This has been a gradual fall since April 4, 2015.

Sure, there have been a few nice peaks mixed in, (but all were ultimately more heartbreaks), but things began trending down overall since that night.

I tried to tell folks this thing just wasn't right, and Cal had lost his edge, and the fans were gradually losing faith, but many held on.... But, over the past almost 3 full seasons the warning signs have all been there. Now, it is coming to a head. There's no coming back now for Cal. I do hold out hope that something clicks and Cal recovers, but he's just not Cal anymore and there isn't anything that any recruits or assistants, or boosters can do to help him. He has to do it himself.

This quote, from Cal's own book, says it all..

The time is fast approaching where Cal must decide if he really wants to invest the effort and time it takes to coach at Kentucky. He also needs to ask his players the same question. I simply don't see the desire or effort necessary for success at a place this from either of them at present.

It's unfortunate that we're so burdensome.

It used to be sold as "The Kentucky Effect". Then "The Kentucky Offer" as though it was a golden ticket. Then "It's Hard Here, Kentucky's Not for Everybody".

Soon it will be "The Burden of the Program". Fans make it harder. The name on the arena. The Kentucky SoftCats.

All of this is symptomatic of a coach that's just meeting the bare minimum requirements so that he's not able to be pushed out without about $40,000,000 little friends to soften the blow.

Often times it's difficult to see yourself as you really are instead how you want to be.

                      Ugh…

Coaches who've scouted Kentucky this season describe an "archaic" offense that is easy to scout. "It’s like there’s an identity crisis.’’

                        I dunno.
we've always heard of teams that would 'run through a brick wall" for their coach.
This bunch as a whole doesn't seem to want to get out of bed for him.

Yes...this right here I think is a big deal. I've had this thought several times this season.

I just wonder why it is. What's happened to make it this way? We'll likely never know but there's definitely something getting in the way of their connection to him.

There are talent and skill issues too. But you'll notice there's not a lot of passion on the court from our players other than with Oscar and Wallace. The players in fact almost look dead-eyed at times.

This is day before UK vs UL on NYE, and it’s dead quiet before what should easily be a top 3 rivalry game for the sport. That says everything

Can’t imagine that because NIL may feel good at the moment but is chump change compared to what they’re supposed to be auditioning for.
