Maybe KP goes to Looseville to get his head coaching experience before taking the Cats over in the future

If it worked out that way, I wouldn’t be mad (so long as he doesn’t hire Milt and steal DJ, first).

Matt Jones is convinced that if Louisville hires KP, DJ Wagner will automatically go there. That's kinda surprising to me. Hasn't Wagner been essentially a Kentucky lock since he was a kid because of his dad?

It’s the Milt Wagner thing, I think. Folks believe KP will hire DJ’s gramps. Plus, I guess DJ would be more of a legacy there than he would just by playing for his dad’s old coach.

Hope like heck it doesn’t work out that way, though. Wagner’s incredible.

I think the Dajuan Wagner / Cal relationship extends a bit beyond just being "dad's old coach."

As far as I understand, there is a very, very special bond and trust there.

I agree, and have been as surprised as you about this assumed tidal shift if KP takes the job.

KP will probably end up at Louisville, and while they could do worse, I'd be on the phone with Scott Drew yesterday. I think he'd leave Baylor for UL and he'd be a home run there.

Rumors are that if KP takes the job, Wagner may go there. Has anyone else heard this?

Kenny Payne has interest in Louisville job and would seem to be the perfect hire | Your Sports Edge 2021
Interesting note in your article that World Wide Wes is now a “top Knicks executive.” Didn’t know what had happened to him.

The UL job would likely have have to be offered to KP for him to accept it.

Yes WWW became one of the Knicks exec staff when KP first arrived, but he still has his eye on HS talent. When I was watching Peach Jam games last summer, I noticed him in the coaches bleacher section sitting there with them. WWW always got his hands in a little-bit-of-this-and-a-little-bit-of-that! Lol

Kinda off topic but the Wagner bloodline is solid in terms of producing solid college basketball players. Crazy to think that we're all awaiting Milt's grandson. Milt was good.

I feel bad for Louisville, the refs cost them a game last night with a truly horrendous technical foul.
