    Wildcatnation - Thank you

I don't think I know any of you personally. I don't live in Kentucky and have not since 1999.
I love UK and have for many years. The '98 championship was the day of my granddaddy's funeral, and somehow it made that day feel tolerable.

I don't contribute here much, because I'm not an insider, and I don't have strong opinions on how the game should or should not be played. I just want the Cats to win. I love UK and I enjoy the passion that I've seen in the members on this site. I started coming to this site around 2004. Hasn't been every day, but just about.

This past year my wife and I separated and she moved (along with our daughters, ages 9 & 12) to Indiana (IMO to get them away from me, punitively). It has been horrible. One thing that has kept me from going insane or into depression, is focusing on things unrelated to that situation. Reading here has helped a lot.

So, make no mistake, that if you ever feel that your presence on here doesn't matter, you could not be more wrong. I don't care what your opinions are on Tubby ball versus the dribble drive motion offense are. I don't care if you liked Pitino better than Calipari, hated BCG or loved him, or want certain players to start and get more minutes versus others. Being able to come and read these opinions has been a godsend. Possibly life-saving.

So thank you. Each and every one.

Strong opinions of not, if you want to participate more in the conversation, you are welcome to reply to every one of my posts with the comment "That's dumb" or some version of the same.

I really love this board so... glad you do too.

I can sympathize to some degree. Love coming on here occasionally as I live in the Nashville area and do not get any kind of insight locally on the Cats (though there are a LOT of us Cat fans down here). Rarely post anything - just love to hear everyone's insight into the team and keep abreast of things like recruiting.

Very heart-felt and touching abroo. Posts like yours help me keep things in perspective; after all, what we discuss here IS only a game.

All the best best to you. Stay strong and keep the faith. Your friend in Louisville.

One awesome thing: for Christmas, my older daughter asked me for UK stuff so she could wear it to her school in Indiana. Love that girl!!!

                        Thank you, abroo588.

I'm sorry that we don't have as many members as we once did and that the threads aren't nearly as active, but I definitely appreciate you being a member here for so long. Many of us have never met in person, but as has been said I feel like "I know" many of you from interactions on here over the years. I value our time together and of course being able to talk about the Cats.

This has been a special opportunity and I hope we continue to enjoy some more wins together.

Another title would be nice as well, hint Cal...hint.

Is that the green light for all of us?

I don’t know your daughter but I suddenly have a lot of respect for her! After graduating from UK I went to IU Bloomington for grad school and wore my UK blue with pride for 4 years! Was fun to antagonize them.

She’s a 12 yr. old in 7th grade and in a new place. She’s always loved UK because I have always shared my love of UK with her. She has realized that the Hoosier State is not UK friendly, and wears her UK gear like a badge of honor. I’m very proud of her. 😊
