Unless he's at a job like Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, or North Carolina, a person would be nuts to not take the Texas job.

Maybe the best job in college sports period.

Texas basketball to me would be like the Florida job. Big enough school to have good turnouts at the games, good national exposure, a state with millions of kids to recruit from....but it's a basketball team in a football school. Win decent (great 8, final four sometime) and you can make a ton of money and still have a private life.

And there's yet ANOTHER completely undeserving mention of Shaka Smart. smh.

Let me tell you where **I** would go with Texas's bankroll. Straight to Sean Miller.

The guy s established, get's high seeds, recruits top players. I'm not saying he's the next Cal but, after this season, his teams have peaked, and he might be willing to move on.

Except Arizona to Texas is a lateral move at best. Arizona is a really really good job also.

Miller isn't ever leaving Arizona unless they don't want anymore. That's a great job in a great area to live. I would say Marshall will end up at Texas if he wants to leave Wichita. He will probably never get another big opportunity like that again.

I would move to Arizona in a heartbeat - weather's perfect and you don't shovel snow. To be a rich man in Arizona is a pretty nice life, and Sean Miller has that going for him.

And with all that he has delivered exactly one less than Barnes 1 final Four appearance.

I can't understand the fascination with Miller. He seems like an underachiever to me.

Totally agree. Has had some really good teams and yet to get past the Elite Eight. And given his post game comments yesterday apparently a lot of people are beginning (finally) to take notice. So many people want him here but I cant imagine being happy with just making the Elite 8.

I doubt if very many UK bb fans would have ever been happy with consistent Elite Eight appearances, but with what we've gotten used to, with Cal, I'm sure no one would be happy with that now.

He was very touchy in that post game news conference. Must be some rumblings in Arizona. He's on a Tubby type run of getting to the elite eight but can't get over that hump to the Final Four.

Has Marshall dropped out of the running?

Haven't heard much but by all accounts it still looks like Marshall is a serious candidate at Alabama.
