A caller on KSR made a good point. He said WCS came back to play in the Final Four. I don't think he's going to let up. When he's into the game I don't think anyone can beat UK.
    Kentucky fan since 1971.

WCS will be big in this game. I'm assuming he'll guard Connaughton. Interesting match-up for Willie but he's pretty much passed every defensive test this year. Even when he's guarded point guards.

Engaged WCS = unstoppable. I am sure he wants to play in the Final Four....he should be ready to go.

I think the matchup with Grant will be interesting/important. He is as good as anyone we have played this year and we have struggled (at times) with the drive and kick out. Absolutely CANNOT leave the ND shooters open.

This is a tough game for me to call. Every rational cell in my body says UK wins by at least ten, and probably a lot more. But, growing up, and still living, in South bend, I know that strange, strange things happen whenever ND plays, no matter the sport. Balls bounce off the top of backboards and fall through the hoop, chip-shot FGs get missed in football. They are the luckiest team that ever was. And, this year, at least, they are deceptively good. They look small and slow, but they beat both UNC and Duke --twice. They have the ugliest uniforms ever conceived by man, but that just lulls teams to sleep by making them look slower than they really are.

We cannot have a let down of any sort. If we play like we did last night, we will be fine, despite the Leprechauns. But if we come out without a complete focus, this could be a tough game.

I have to tell you, living in South Bend, this game scares the living daylights out of me. A loss would be absolutely unbearable. for years and years to come.

In my opinion, you don't have a thing to worry about.

I think people (media and fans) try to create ways to be nervous/worried. On other boards people are comparing ND to a better version of Ole Miss and Georgia who had success in spreading us out and hitting threes.

I am definitely nervous for this game (and all games) as I think ND does present some challenges and things this team either hasn't seen or has struggled with. But, I am not sure ND has seen a team like UK. ND has 4 guys who shot better than 40% from three, so shutting down just one of them won't work...gotta play strong D all around.

I fully anticipate you'll let us know tomorrow if they are leaving shooters open.

                I tease in love.

Notre Dame probably is a (much better) version of Ole Miss.

But Ole Miss needed 9 threes and nearly 50% from out there, almost 50% from the field, and missing only three free throws to have a shot. That's a tall order even as good as Notre Dame is.

The thing about Notre Dame is that when you get past their offensive stats you get into a lot of mediocrity. They don't rebound, they don't steal balls, they don't block shots, they don't guard. What they are is an extremely good offensive team.

Don't think that's going to be enough. To beat Kentucky you need to be a lot more complete. We're goimg to see those kinds of teams next weekend if we make it.

Clearly the best team we've faced in a while. I'm impressed they've beaten Duke twice. But honestly I don't have any real big concerns till we get to Wisconsin/Arizona. I think they're both really good. They'd be pretty hyped by the media this year if we weren't just so much better!

I am almost more concerned with their ability to drive the ball to the basket and get easy layups as I am with their threes. But then, I am just going to be a basket case for the next 34 hours no matter what any tries to tell me.

                        I wish I drank.

^^^^I do drink, so I've got dibs on yours!! I'd like to reiterate one important thing.....we have one of, if not the best, D in the NCAA, maybe in history. We've played a great schedule against lots of good teams, including several in the tourney. We beat everyone of them, and demolished a good number of them. ND is a good team, dangerous for sure. I think we present them waaaay more worries than they present to us. Maybe I'm wrong, but with our depth I fully expect to eventually lock down ND at some point in the game, and win going away.

Hoping we can win this one. I'll take Cats by 14.

The only worry is that if we can't hit shots. If you can't hit shots they'll outpace you, because even as good as our offense is they're going to go on a couple of decent runs. They are going to score points. Way too good and skilled.

The worry with that kind of team is if you go 2-15 from three or something like that. But Kentucky hasn't had a lot of those games in the last two months or so. We could even overcome 2-15, but you'd have to have Towns playing way better than he was.

Basically a lot of things could go wrong and Kentucky still win. Really big margin for error.
