As soon as the brackets came out, the possible West Virginia matchup was THE game I dreaded. I can't stand Huggins or his style of coaching. But the man can coach. He gets "more out of less" through intimidation and bullying (Bobby Knight, Frank Martin?). However, I do think he has mellowed a little through the years. As somebody else said earlier, he seems to have Cal's teams' number.

WVU is the toughest of the two. Mainly because of Huggins. When I look at potential matchups I look at couaching. Huggins is a proven coach who knows how to win. I wasn't so sure about Turgeon at Maryland. He got little lucky in getting Trimble and Dez Wells had a great season. After that they were very pedestrian. But it is what it is. I'll be putting up WVU preview shortly.
      Kentucky fan since 1971.

        West Virginia lost 7 times.

Three of those losses were to one team: Baylor. All three were double-digit losses.

Which is strange, because Baylor's not really a team known for its toughness. I'm sure Cal already has the game tape of those games, but I would assume they all came down to one thing: Baylor's ability to take care of the basketball.

I think Baylor scored a lot inside against them. We should be able to do the same.

Good points...WVU actually lost 9 games though. LSU, Iowa St (2x), Texas, Oklahoma, KU, Baylor (3x)
