Edit: Forgot De’Vion Harmon from OU. He entered today and UK reached out almost immediately.

I'm not a fan of Harmon. Wonder if he reached out to T Maxey (they've played AAU ball together going back to elementary school) for advice regarding coming to UK (assuming he's not gonna get drafted)? I see UT reached out to him; he should go back home to TX.

I’m mixed. Nice range, but had never shot better than 38% inside the arc, and he’s particularly terrible around the rim.

I’d rather have Wright from CO, who just landed transfer Mason Faulkner. Hoping that means Wright will soon be available.

What do you not like about him? I’ve never had much reason to pay attention.

I'd never heard of Da'Vion Harmon before two days ago, but it looks like he's the guy that UK is putting the full court press on right now.

Just looking at his stats one thing I like about him is that he made a significant jump from his freshman to sophomore years. Guy really improved, which suggests he might make a similar jump for a team this coming season.

Where are you seeing “full court press”? They’re interested, but I’ve not seen anything to suggest they like him more than everyone else.

If Zeg doesn’t take his name out of the draft and come to UK, Carr or Wright (if he transfers) are the two best options. UK is more interested in Carr than Harmon, but the portal is going to force a lot of coaches’ hands. Take a guy when he’s available, or leave your team in the lurch.

Saw last night that Jai Lucas had met with Harmon and they were trying to set up a meeting with Calipari this weekend.

What do you not like about him? I’ve never had much reason to pay attention.

I should've said I don't like Harmon as a fit for us. I watched soph & junior year when he played with Maxey on TX EYBL team. His play is "mid-major" level; he's perfect for a team that is looking for someone to stay all four years-develop (although he believed in HS he was going to be a one-and-done player). His skill level is not what we are looking for in a guard. Coach Cal didn't offer Harmon a scholarship back in high school even though he went to AAU tourney's and saw him play with Maxey so that should tell you something. I did watch a couple games he played freshman year and yes, he did improve this last season (watched few games this year too) but I don't see the reason for the push. I'm not a scout so I could be way of base. Lol He probably talked to Maxey (they go back to elementary school) about playing for UK and Coach Cal.

Kind of the way I feel.

I love Fredrick as a bench guy though. Those instant offense kind of players show up on all good college teams...assuming Fredrick accepts that kind of role.

If Mintz leaves, I think there’d be one more available spot. If I had to choose, I’d certainly take Carr over Mintz, but that would still leave us with some questions.

PG would go from a black hole to a strength. Carr, Washington, and Hickman looks like a solid group on paper.

But what if Keion leaves? You’re probably looking at Grady at the three at that point, which I like, but then who are you playing at the two? Neither Allen nor Fredrick strike me as starters. Maybe Brooks would be your four anyway, though, with Hopkins backing him up, in which case Grady can still play the three and you either still need a starter at the two or you’re forced to choose between Fredrick and Allen.

If you don’t land Washington but you get Carr and Mintz stays, you’ve got a pretty nice back court for next season — but no Washington. If he goes elsewhere and Mintz leaves, you’d probably hope for Carr and Miller (ahem, Coach O) with Fredrick off the bench.

Kyle Tucker tweets (not for the first time) that Isaiah Jackson could come back and Cal seems to be trying to talk him into returning.

Many on Kentucky Twitter jump in to say that isn't going to happen. (Some of these guys, IMO, do not have any sources and are just Say Things Very Firmly Guys. I'd be careful about trusting them.)

It could be though that the UK media gets these stories out there because the UK staff plants the stories somehow. It looks better for UK if people think the coaches are trying to talk borderline lottery picks into coming back.

It also could be that Tucker's information is totally legitimate and Calipari is trying to get Jackson back.
