He’s got to find the balance like some of these programs that are finding success now (Villanova, Gonzaga, etc.)
The problem has become one-and-dones have gotten too dispersed across college basketball. Used to be they only went to a select few programs. Now they go everywhere. Which means you’re only going to get one, maybe two of those true elites—and even that’s going to be tough.
It’s not that we need to settle with lesser talent. Whoever is the coach here has to recruit the best of the best.
It’s simply that we can’t keep bleeding players like this. It’s untenable.
