    I agree

I agree, but is that part of the problem?

Cal isn't getting fired after this year. Ain't happening.

If next year isn't any better though...

You have to remember what's slated to come in next year, especially if Clark reclasses and another guard comes with him.

We’re past the “wait ‘til you see what we have coming in” game we’ve been playing the last decade. That won’t work anymore.

We can’t just shuffle players out anymore and roll the dice on freshmen. This sport is rewarding experience now way more than it has at any point in last decade.

He has to keep most of these guys. If not, fire him. It’s that simple. The experiment is over.

This idea that the players are somehow damaged goods because they’re struggling after 13 games in a COVID year is hurting the program badly.

I think I would give Cal a pass on this year because of COVID if it looked like the team was getting better. But outside of those 3 games and the Florida game in particularly, it's been the same all year. Last night was inexcusable and I didn't even watch.

He's not getting fired, nor should he, but another year like this one and I would probably change my opinion.

Somebody mentioned that MS and HS coaching is not what it used to be. This team is fundamentally flawed in most all aspects of the game. They can't dribble, pass, shoot and are very poor defensively. These things they should have started learning in Middle School. Also, what has happened to the simple jump shot with the ball overhead and shooting with the wrist? This is broken so bad, I'm not sure they are fixable.

I think if this team is 7-20 or something along those lines and we still lose 6-7 guys off the roster, I think Cal bolts. No way is he gonna stick around and listen to those questions.

We're going to lose 2 definitely, 4 most likely, 5 probably...and then you're building from scratch again next year basically.

WAIT WAIT WAIT --- I thought so many fans were sick of the one and dones? They want him to recruit lesser talent in hopes they stay 2-3-4 years and develop in the program... Well - here it is. Really fun stuff huh?

I'm just throwing something out there because this is the worst fundamentally sound basketball team I may have seen on any level.

Did you listen to his post game interview? He is working on basics. He said they have been working on 2-hand rebounds every single day and they still get in a game and don't do that. These are college players that should know this stuff by now. He can't run on the floor and do it for them. This group is raw and lacking, it's as simple as that. They are not executing what is being taught. It happens. Seen it many times over and over with coaching kids from youth to HS and so on. Sometimes kids just can't put it together.

But here we are... People want 3-4 year players, this is what it looks like until these young guys develop or others come in to replace them.

I didn't say it like that. I meant I'd rather have next year's freshmen than most of next year's sophomores.

and really, I'm just talking about two guys. Askew and Fletcher. I'm good with them leaving.

I think we lose Boston, Clarke, and Jackson.

So you're just exchanging Fletcher for Hopkins and Askew for Hickman. Sounds good to me.

Other than that you're looking at a roster of

                      Oscar Ware
                      Brooks
                      Allen
                      Toppin
                      Collins

And likely Clark, maybe Sallis and/or Podzinski

A substantial upgrade IMO. We'll only find out after they get together and play.

Not sure what the heck a “-lifetime contract” is. I assume a buyout would be his annual salary times the rest of his life. Unless he’s fired for cause. Assembling an awful team may seem like “cause” to us but in reality it is not.

Cal will leave when he’s sick of all this.

If we end up with a roster for next year of:
                          Oscar
                          Brooks
                          Allen
                          Ware
                          Hopkins
                          Hickman
                          Collins

                          Probably Skyy Clark
And maybe one of two of Sallis and Podzinski

Looks like a good roster to me. But that's what everyone said about this year's...

I think if they stay to develop, the fan base will be okay....like you said...growing and learning. If there's another mass exodus off a 7 win (maybe) season, then its pretty solid evidence this attempt has ran its course and doesnt need to continue.

This is only correct if they stay. From what I'm reading they are not coming back.

                                No.

People want 3-4 year players who stay and develop some continuity in the program. People are tired of the year over year roster turnover where NBA kids bolt, the ones who have no shot go, and the others that show promise transfer out.
