It may be more that it's part of this agenda Cal seems to be pushing to get the players to take responsibility and leadership roles.

Why so many think Allen playing. willl somehow correct the train wreck of this season is beyond me. I have seen NOTHING from his play that would lead to that conclusion, he is slow on defense,turnover prone and so far no better shooter than anyone else we have. Yes I know he is a Kentucky boy, but SO WHAT, UK has always been about winning and if the coach thinks he has better options then so be it. I think so many would love to believe that there is a magic solution to this sub par season, there isn’t. As Bill Parcells always said, “ you are who your record says you are” and playing Allen to please the home folks isn’t going to change that.

I agree, the assistants can’t play the games anymore than Cal can. Yes Cal IS responsible for who is here but we are what we are at this point. The only way we improve is if the players themselves take responsibility for thier play and step up. Your team is on the floor as Gene Hackmansaid inHoosiers, they either perform or they don’t. The composition of that team and how it came to be there is a discussion for after the season IMO, and it should be addressed, but at this point THIS team will only go as far as the players decide to take it.

He couldn't do much worse, if any, so why not give him a chance?

I wonder if all the fans clamoring that Cal play him has PO’d Cal and he has decided to show them all who the coach is and isn’t playing him out of spite and ego, and yes I think 2020 Cal IS more than cpapble of such motivation.

Cal wouldn't be where he is if he let fans dictate who he plays.

Clarke was injured and had all zeroes on the stat sheet today except for one turnover. Cal would rather have that in the game than Allen. Allen honestly shouldn't come back for the second semester.
