    Dontaie Allen

So is Dontaie Allen announcing a transfer tomorrow? Don't blame him if he does. He's limited defensively, but if you are struggling as a team hitting the ocean and Cal won't put you in, then your time is probably up at UK. His troubles against GT didn't help. But it's not like he was the only one that sucked that game...

It's also possible he is just saying this is a new beginning to being dedicated to improvement individually and the team. Who knows

Jack Pilgrim and Shawn Smith mentioned on their podcast that a few teams around the State, especially Western, have shown interest in Allen if he were to want to transfer.

If Western continues to sign Ky. boys, they may become the new darlings of Ky. bb.

I would take the Powell kid at Auburn over any guard we currently have at UK.

              Among Kentucky coaches, sure.

Among people in Kentucky in general? A long ways to go there. Chances of it happening are about on the line of us getting plunked in the head with a meteorite when we leave the house today.

Western has a great basketball tradition though and Kentucky is lucky to have them. I'm not a huge Rick Stansbury fan but he did start out at Cumberland College back in the day, which is pretty cool.

I wasn't aware that coach Stansberry was at Cumberland. I looked it up to see when he was there and it was way after my time there.

Once saw Rick Stansbury enter a hotel, clearly ripped about something and carrying only a clipboard, while behind him his wife was lugging the entire family's heavy suitcases.

My mom used to teach Sunday school with a woman whose brother (in-law?) was on Stansbury's staff at Mississippi State. From what I recall she did not have a lot of nice things to say about him.

Cam'Ron Fletcher has 'stepped away' from the team.

Can someone translate this statement from Cal

You see, the reason Calipari waited so long to put Allen in the game is because there are players ahead of him in the rotation who, and I quote, “need to be able to miss shots.”

“I could’ve done it today, but I’m giving these guys that are in front of him the room that they need to be able to miss shots,” Calipari said of Allen following Kentucky’s fifth consecutive loss of the season. “We go in practice and they make shots, but they aren’t making them in the game. It’s not, “I come out every time I miss a shot,” obviously you guys know that’s not true. You try to give them room and encourage them to shoot.”

Better players need to be able to work themselves into the NBA before Dontai Allen can work himself into another D1 roster.

This makes no sense. Shooters who can make shots need to be in the game if winning is the goal.
