We get excited, angry, flustered, etc... watching 18-19 year old kids who we don't know, bounce a ball and throw it through an orange ring. It's all stupid, and in the big picture, completely meaningless.
But, you can say that about all sports and a lot of other things we do in life as well.Comment

I work with obituaries most every day, and an enormous percentage of those have UK basketball listed as a hobby for the deceased person.
So I don't really think this is stupid for a lot of people. If it's stupid then what are we doing here?
I take it pretty seriously. There are, I admit, certain teams I grow really fond of. With those teams I'll be in a funk about a loss for a couple of days.
This isn't one of those teams. This team has far exceeded my expectations, but last night was one of the more frustrating nights of the Cal era for the way the game unfolded.Comment

As I get older, UK sports become more of what it should be....distraction, entertainment.
last nights loss was about as disappointing as the Game of Thrones finale. Not much more. All these kids will be fine , if they keep their heads on straight. College degree and local benefits for those who stick it out. Financial stability out the ears for the gifted guys.
BUT.....
losing sucks.
Losing to Tennessee is another level of sucks.Comment

Because I was the youngin' listening to Kentucky sports on the radio before TV, and the 20 yr old who cried when the band marched off the field playing our fight song at my first game ever watching my CATS in person, I take every opportunity to watch any Kentucky team play, serious. I am a Kentucky Fan period. I want and expect them to win. But, I also realize good teams can lose to bad teams because that's just the way games are.
You will never hear me dumping on my CATS because they lose a lead or a game. Now, I don't like it one bit, but what would I gain by posting a lot of negative stuff, or by calling another Kentucky fan names? Nothing, except showing a lot about who I am as a person. Don't get me wrong, I will give my opinion about why stuff happens and how I think things could be improved, but bashing kids and fellow fans is unnecessary in my opinion.
Kentucky Fans are the most knowledgeable fans in the country, especially about basketball and football, and when we lose a game like we did last night, it chafes us a mite. But we'll get over it somehow and Saturday we'll all be in our spots cheering on our Cats.John 3:3

UK dropped to the second 4 seed now...that loss was a killer. Lose Saturday and we are potentially looking at a 5 seed.

Hopefully they are correct and ranked #1 again this year. I don't see anyway that UK is a 2 seed currently. The NCAA is not giving a 2 seed to a team with a NET ranking in the 20, especially when that team is UK.Comment

This game Saturday is huge, as we all know. I thought this team would have a hard time winning it even before the disaster Tuesday night. This is a brutally tough game because of the venue and where Florida is as a team right now. Desperate teams at home on senior day hardly ever lose.Comment
