To be fair to Whitney, I watched a few of his high school games and he dominated, offensively and defensively. The comp wasn't great, but he starred on the AAU circuit, too.

Some guys just aren't ready as freshmen at this stage.

A lot of guys that are freakish athletes look great against high school players, in an AAU setting. That's my point.

If anyone caught the post game show, did Cal single out Nate as I read on another site? Seems like there was plenty of blame to go around including the Coaches.

Singled out Ashton. And he did hurt us quite a bit. Two terrible turnovers in a row, and went on his own driving the lane and not running called plays twice

Most disturbing thing I heard Cal say last night after the game was his description of what happened when we got the big lead in the 2nd half. He claimed he called several plays and his players wouldn’t run them. Excuse me!! How does that work Coach calls plays , players don’t run said plays and nothing happens to them like sitting on the pine for the rest of the game. We would lose but I would rather lose with 2nd team era doing what the coach calls than letting the inmates run the asylum. Listening to Cal whine “The players aren’t listening to me is sickening”.

Cal's said this sort of thing for years actually.

Often says the players "broke off" the play. But however he phrases it, that isn't a new thing with Cal.

As the above poster said, I think it was a pointed critique of Hagans more than anything. And judging by Hagans' tweet after the game, he seemed to take responsibility.

There were about seven possessions where Hagans went crazy last night. That's pretty odd for him and IMO he was bothered by how physical South Carolina was. They basically try to knock you to the floor when you go in there. As discussed hereon many times, that's not Hagans' game.

I am not jaded enough to say the refs last night were atrocious. I am sure they probably still get a B+ or an A in your grade book though.

Just for the record, I don't think people jump you because you talk about UK losing or you point out flaws or whatever.

They seem to jump you because of your tone. Everything's awful and embarrassing and a disgrace. The players suck and everything's falling apart at all times. It's like if Eeyore--a more angry, disgruntled Eeyore--had an account on WCN.

Folks can take those outbursts from time to time. We all get ticked occasionally. But when you jump into game threads and sort of post the same thing, with the same tone, game after game...well, it makes the experience a little more sour for those folks who have to read it.

I'm sure you know this but you seem to really be unable to stop. Or maybe you just want others to be miserable with you, I don't know, and it bothers you when people aren't. With all that said, I do think you give a good deal to the board and at least you're passionate. I'll take passion over these folks who seem not to care one way or the other.

But it is like having to watch a game with your rage-filled, slightly unpredictable uncle who at any time might get up and punch a hole in your wall. That's funny at first...and then it gets a little depressing to watch.

I know I'm pretty tough on Crazzed. My main problem outside of exactly what you said is the snowball effect he jumps to. One bad loss turns into a 12 loss season and we will be lucky to make the tournament. I'm starting to wonder if every time we have rain he starts buying materials for his arc.

I understand an outburst about a specific game, but just because we lost at USC, where Cal has always had issues, doesn't mean we are NIT bound.

And, he falls to acknowledge ANYTHING positive. He's doom and gloom over us being the only school with multiple sub 100 losses but doesn't mention we are the only school with multiple top five wins. This team has shown we can get beat by anyone, but it's also shown we can beat anyone.
