NCAA Tourney Thread (UPDATE: UK Opens Against Abilene Christian Thursday at 7:00)

At this point the consensus looks like 2 seed in Louisville with Duke. If UK wins their next 3, which likely includes beating Tennessee on Saturday at the SEC tournament, UK will be a one seed in the Midwest with UNC.

So, what would you prefer? In Louisville with Duke (and a healthy Zion), or in Kansas City with UNC? These look like the two most likely scenarios at this point.

I'd have to go #2 in Louisville too.

I saw a thing from somebody--I think it was Tim Sullivan of the C-J--talking about how rare it is for #2 seeds to get rewarded with a "home" floor. It rarely ever happens in the NCAA Tournament.

I know it happens with 3 seeds sometimes. (Syracuse in Carmelo's year, for example.) But they usually don't give 2-seeds gifts like that.

          ^ I still think we have a decent shot at a 1.

If you look at what Tennessee and Gonzaga have done, for instance, and compare their wins to Kentucky's it's hard to make an argument that either of those teams are more deserving of a 1 seed.

IF UK ends up in Louisville I just may get tickets. I need to check with my doctor to see what kind of vaccines I'd need. I don't want to catch some kind of parasite or venereal disease just by walking in the place.

I agree. But at THIS moment, I agree with the bracketologists. However, I do see us winning our next 3 (likely 4) and getting the one seed in Midwest or outside shot of South. I will add, I don't HATE having the 2 seed in Louisville regional at all.

                  Especially if we play Duke.

Back to a 1 seed in latest bracket projections....

As of this moment, your one seeds are Virginia, Gonzaga, UK, and UNC IMO

Main problem with this is that if Zion comes back and looks healthy in the ACC tourney the committee will pretend their last 5 or 6 games simply did not happen.

I saw one bracket that had LSU as a two seed.

Kentucky got some help yesterday but things still aren't quite figured out.

We could be looking at yet another UK-UNC match-up in the Elite 8, maybe in the Midwest.

But we could still get Louisville and have the #1 seed there. It would probably take a lot of other things going our way next weekend, the most obvious being we beat Tennessee on Saturday. Carolina and Duke both losing in their tournament would also be nice.
