Guard play and dumb fouls by key players are my main concern. Our seed won't matter if we don't play smarter.

As the sun comes up this morning, I've got to re evaluate my comments.
      Hagans had TWELVE assists...a record.
The turnovers were just at an inopportune time.
The Cats were ONE rebound away from winning. ONE bunny away.
ONE technical foul. ONE what in the world call.
Tennessee showed their grit when it mattered.
Tournament ball. Gotta play all the minutes. Every one.

Predictions (worthless) this morning are WEST. The Zags at one, Florida State the three.
      Fair enough if it holds.

Seems like typically the West is the weakest region. I would take it.

But I will say that I think we'll have a different take on the matter if flash forward two weeks and we're sitting there having to play Gonzaga in Anaheim. Remember some other situations where the geography didn't work out for UK, particularly when we had to play Marquette in Minneapolis in '03. We like to think UK fans travel but some of the NCAA Tournament games of the last few years haven't been kind to us in that regard.

But if the choice is between Duke in Louisville, Virginia in Washington, or Gonzaga out west I probably go with west. Duke's athletes are too much for Kentucky I think and you just have to hope they run into a team where they clank an avalanche of shots. I don't think they'd do that in a huge marquee Elite Eight game against us.

UK lost so I won't complain whom they play now as long as they get the 2 seed which should be a lock. Go out West, the Zags may be for real but I will take my chances. If its the YUM, how exciting to be able to see them in Louisville. The MidWest will be fine and likely get another crack at the team I hate more than anybody,UNC. If its the East looks like Duke or Virginia. Bring it on.

I am interested to see if committee puts Louisville as 7 and we have a potential matchup. Would not surprise me in the least. That would rule out the South bracket.

^ Don't think it'll be UNC in the Midwest because I think UNC will also be a 2. If Michigan St. wins today then I think they'll be in Kansas City with them.

Now that Duke's the overall #1 seed they aren't putting them in the Yum! with Kentucky as their 2 obviously. But there's a possibility Virginia gets dinged for their loss and we're the 2 with them in the South.

I don't think that happens but Kentucky might still get rewarded geography-wise for our Quad 1 wins.

I would much prefer Virginia in the South. If we got that bracket I think we'd go to the Final Four. Not as sure about having to go out West with Gonzaga because I just don't think we'd travel out there, and you never know what's going to happen in an unfriendly arena. Especially with a team that's shown a penchant for panicking like this UK team.

I guess I see UNC resume as better and I know Michigan State has a ton of quadrant 1 wins. But 2 losses to Indiana, a loss to Illinois are very bad losses. And maybe it's a push and they are just going to seed them 1 and 2. Tennessee deserves a 1 seed over both of these teams in my opinion. They beat Kentucky twice -does SEC Tourney matter? , Gonzaga, lost to Kansas-same as Michigan State. UNC and Tennessee both beat ZAGS. Tennessee trumps Michigan State's resume based on consistency and lack of bad losses but both trending high.

I forgot about Tennessee actually. You're right, they're probably the one in the South.

Michigan St. might be the odd man out there unless they knock Gonzaga down to a 2. However Michigan St., as you say, might not have more of a stake on that because of their losses to Indiana and Illinois.

Likely, Tennessee will be seeded 2. I think the SEC Tourney is played too late and the draw is 95% complete. They simply need to move the games up a day.
Tennessee may get the 1 seed and I think they should if they win this afternoon but I won't be surprised if they do not.

Could be but you would think they grabbed a 1 by winning yesterday.

The committee loves doing controversial stuff because controversy this time of year is good for the sport, so they might give the ACC three one seeds just because it'll tick America off.

Personally I don't think there's a whole lot of difference between Tennessee, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Gonzaga, so in a lot of ways it's splitting hairs. But there will be howling if they put three ACC teams on the top line.

What puzzles me is if the committee doesn't hold Duke's losses against them with Zion out but rewards NC for beating Duke without Zion. Seems like it should be one way or the other.

IMO Tennessee will get the 2 seed in the Louisville bracket....but if they win today they deserve the #1 seed

I don't think today's game has any bearing on it, that's why everyone would like to see the SEC final on Sat. By the time today's game is over, I'd say the committee will have already made their decision.

Does anybody remember or know, what the SEC powers say their reasons are for leaving the final on Sunday?
