The NCAA would have to do that after this change is voted on. All the stuff about how long you have to stay in school after you're NBA-eligible is a college basketball issue.

The NBA simply sets the age limit at which you can be drafted.

So if NCAA says you have to stay in school for 2 years if you don’t go at 18 the NBA will honor that?

The NBA will just say, "You're allowed to play at 18." That's the extent of what they can do.

At that point college basketball will probably put in a rule that you have to stay at least two years. I don't think they'll go with three.

I personally don't think it will make the game better. I think Kentucky fans overstate how damaging one and dones are simply because we dislike them in our program. The wild proclamations Kentucky fans make--"You can't win titles with one and dones!" and "One and dones are destroying the game!"--have to do with one thing: emotion.

What's going to happen is that you'll still have a bunch of people leave after two years and we'll all hate that. Plus we'll not get the true stars in our program or anywhere else in the college game. It's not going to be great.

The only thing that college could do to make it better than it is now would be to implement the baseball rule, which I don't think they'll ever do. Personally I've never understood why the NBA and the NCAA don't work together to help the players and to make both games more pleasing to fans. But a lot of times it seems they're working against each other, and of course that's entirely the stupid NCAA's fault.
