UNC is now sneaking up the rankings and is definitely in play for a 2 seed and maybe a 1 depending on what happens.

UK needs Michigan, Michigan St, and/or UNC to lose a game or two in the next week to stay on the 2 line.

No, UK just needs to keep winning the games that they're supposed to win. If they do, it doesn't make any difference what those other teams do.

Crazzed, once again, what are you talking about?

I've looked at that post 10 times and I can't understand what he's saying.

The only thing I can assume is that crazzed begins most every take with the idea that Kentucky is going to lose, and then he filters all other takes through that.

It's the weirdest thing. For the life of me I can't understand being a fan of a team and then coming to message boards to post the way this poster does.

No, what are you talking about? Every freaking thing I post you have a problem with. I know you are smarter and know more about basketball than everyone else here so why don’t you just stop replying????

you don’t think that UNC is now a threat to take a 2 seed (or a 1 seed)?

UK is likely not winning out, especially with Travis out for a while.

UNC is creeping up again and now has a nice resume, rankings/computers seem to love Mich St, and Michigan is right there as well. All I said is that it would be good for UK if those teams lost a game or two.

Why is that so crazy and outlandish???

Because I feel like you're outrageously, and unnecessarily, pessimistic.

Do you mean to work into or stay as a possible 1 seed? I mean, we'd have to lose and everyone else win to drop out of a 2 seed. And, I supposed that could happen, but we've got a strong resume so far.

*Edit/addition - Just read the rest of the thread. Maybe I am just looking at the possibilities through rose-colored lenses assuming that we're going to find the way to win whether or not Travis is able to play these next few games.

It's possible that we won't find a way to win with Travis. I think having him out hurts us bad.

But you would hope we get some credit for his absence. And you would also hope that Kentucky can play well enough at home this weekend to get one.

The thing about North Carolina sneaking in to steal that two is this: we beat North Carolina on a neutral easily. I know the committee has said they don't put a lot of weight into head-to-heads, but the Heels still have work to do.

It looks like Zags will coast to a#1. Zion appears to have a mild knee sprain and I can see possibly a few more losses without him but I think they will still put Duke as a #1 seed.
The rest is wide open. Virginia plays Louisville twice and Syracuse. It may come down how they do in ACC tourney to solidify a #1. Tennessee and UK may be fighting for one of last #1 seeds or both should get a #2 unless they go on a bad stretch. UNC plays the rest of their tough games at home (Duke, Florida State, Syracuse and is on road at Boston College and Clemson) So I see UNC as a #2 unless they win ACC Tourney and win out or they will be a 3 seed. Michigan and Michigan State still need to play two more times in regular season. I think Michigan is the better team and they are both in the hunt but I simply think Michigan State is a little over rated even though they have some solid victories. Nevada and Houston also could be #2 seeds. I simply can not see either being a #1 but could see them #4/5 seed in a UK bracket.

UNC jumped UK in Kenpom and Sagarin after last nights's win. Still at #9 in NCAA net rankings (Duke dropped to 3).

Honestly, could care less about the seeding, we play how we are capable and we win, that includes Duke!!!

The committee has never said they use Pomeroy so I'm not sure how much KenPom matters. I actually think it should matter and I think they should've just paid Pomeroy instead of using the NET, but they didn't do that.

If I'm on a committee I have to look at that game in Chicago and weight it. But if Kentucky were to lose to Ole Miss or Auburn and Tennessee and flounder here for the next two weeks, obviously things can change.

I would really hope that the committee looks at the Reid Travis situation and gives us a little bit of a break if we lose, but as we've seen in the past the committee isn't that kind to UK.
